Reserved. If this gets big like Nellieball, then in the grand scheme of things, this post will be a good investment.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:19 pm
Well, we will see where both your stories go.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:21 pm
It will be business as usual with Nellieball, with the same type of updates, with about the same frequency, especially since its Winter Break. I'm going to go all out over the next couple weeks with this one too. Wanna make me a sig?
Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:27 pm
Good luck with this. Granted from my perspective a Clippers' dynasty should be more interesting than a Warriors' one.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:43 pm
Thanks X. I think I went a bit overboard with all of the trades (not just made by my side) with my Warriors. Aside of one deal (One of the two I made in the original run of this), I will be keeping my squad the same. I'm doing a controlled sim until today making sure my team wins all the games it wins and loses the ones it loses. The other teams' records will inevitably different, but what can you do?
Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:47 pm
Cool the clippers are a fun team to play around with. Looking forward to this.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 8:06 pm
Good luck, Ima followin' for sure. The section is in action right now. The game is fun. So just do what you want best. Not glad that Griffin is out til January though. I want to see him play
Sun Dec 20, 2009 8:13 pm
Yeah, I'm keeping him out until then. Marcus Camby is a beast in this game.

With patch and sliders, its the best basketball game I've ever played.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 8:21 pm
Camby's also a beast in real life. One of the most underrated guys right now. He does what is expected from him and not more. He had 22 rebounds this night. His weakside D is fantastic and from what I read he's also the guy who is talking the most on D. Kind of the defensive leader.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 8:23 pm
Camby is a beast everywhere!
Sun Dec 20, 2009 8:24 pm
Well good luck with Clippers hope you still do some updates in the Warriors

and you must change you sig and avatar soon
Sun Dec 20, 2009 8:24 pm
True. I looked at his stats and they are fantastic. Best player on the team, yet Kaman and Baron get the attention.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 9:01 pm
Good luck with this one , your Warriors dynasty was tight !
Make EG an allstar !
Sun Dec 20, 2009 10:51 pm
Look forward to this, as a Nuggets fan want to see Camby as Defensive Player of the Year again.
Sun Dec 20, 2009 11:11 pm
Good luck man, since it's uninjured, hope Griffin do well
Mon Dec 21, 2009 1:09 am
Thought of starting a Clippers dynasty aswell, but oh boy, do I dislike Baron Davis and a couple other LAC folks. Another thing is, you'll need to do it really well, because Chaser7 set the bar really high with his Clippers dynasty, hehe. Anyway, I believe you'll do great and I can't wait for it to start, good luck!
Mon Dec 21, 2009 5:45 am
mp3, Thanks man. Warriors aren't done. Just starting this one and seeing where it goes during a slow period.
Azzdogs, You just might. The dude's a machine in the game. He seems to scoop up every rebound and blog several shots a game.
De8, Its uninjured except for my team. I simulated up to this point, and I'm not going to activate Blake until mid-January.
Oskar, Yeah, it seems I am following his dynasty pattern of two years ago, first by making a Warriors dynasty with very similar recaps, then making a Clippers one around Christmas time. Not sure if I can top his, but I'll try.
Simmed to today's date in the game, and have a 12-14 record like the real Clippers. The stats aren't too off (thanks for the tip -hova, CB4 is averaging a very realistic 11 RPG right now), though some of the standings are. The Lakers are 21-4 like their real-life counterparts, and the Celtics, Cavs and Magic lead the East (though Boston isn't as good as they are irl), but the Hawks, Mavs and Nuggets are mediocre, and New Jersey has a winning record.
Roster post updated, and first real update should be today. Stay tuned.

CLIPPERS LOSE
The #18 Clippers blog on the Web! (The Clippers of Clippers Blogs)2009-10 Los Angeles Clippers Season Preview*Spoiler alert* We Still SuckOctober 25, 2009 - After enjoying a 6-2 preseason and drafting a #1 pick, one might think that this could be an exciting year for the Clippers. However, 20 years of being a fan has turned me into a very cynical man. As a Clippers fan, the glass always seems to not only be half-empty, but have a leak in it as well. Forget the Warriors, we have the worst luck ever.
Last season we won 19 games. Naturally it wasn't a new low for what is historically the league's worst franchise, but it was disappointing for those of us who were expecting 30 wins. In a decision that effectively destroyed three franchises,
Elton Brand reneged on his promise to re-sign with the Clippers in favor of a more lucrative deal with the Sixers. Golden State, upon losing
Baron Davis, hit the panic switch by overpaying for
Corey "Bad Porn" Maggette, the Sixers were terrible until Brand suffered his annual season-ending injury, and an unmotivated Baron arrived at training camp even fatter than usual.
After an absolutely atrocious 2008 off-season however, most of the moves made by coach/general manager Dunleavy have looked, well... good. Ditching team cancer
Zach Randolph and his mammoth contract for young expiring talent was only the beginning. Having lucked out by winning the lottery, we drafted consensus #1 pick
Blake Griffin (I had Olowokandi-esque Center
Hasheem Thabeet going first in my mock). The Clippers' final move was dealing a conditional 2016 second rounder for sharpshooting swingman
Rasual Butler.
But when it looked like we would finally enjoy a 25 win season without Brand's services, Blake Griffin suffered a broken kneecap that will keep him out until January. Griffin, a 20 year old power forward out of Oklahoma, amassed a bevy of awards following a stellar Sophomore season in which he averaged 22.7 points and 14.4 rebounds per game for the Sooners. Touted as the draft's sole can't-miss superstar, he was expected to be the Clippers' savior. Now we must wait until January to find out. So far, the comparisons to
Carlos Boozer are looking pretty accurate.
Its hard to predict How many games the Clippers win this year. The homer in me believes that Baron and
Chris Kaman stay healthy,
Eric Gordon develops into a star, Blake makes a triumphant return,
Al Thornton sucks less, Dumbleavy stops coaching and we miraculously win 42 games. However, because they are the Clippers, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost 60.

I like Bassy. Make him a star
Mon Dec 21, 2009 6:14 pm
Word. Make Bassy a star!
Mon Dec 21, 2009 6:54 pm
Nice preview. The squad is somewhat very gifted, but also with many showbags on it. Not sure wether you can compare Griffin to Boozer. I mean Boozer's been averaging about 0.2 blocks per game in his last two or three seasons. Griffin should top Boozer on D for sure.
You could really make Telfair a star. He has everything you need as a PG and if you give him a drill every month (shooting, defense) then he could be up high very soon. Boom Dizzle is getting old anyway. You should trade him to the Lakers so that he does not feel homesick

For the projection, I think you can make the Playoffs. 40-45 wins could be possible.
Mon Dec 21, 2009 7:00 pm
Haha, I had intentions to deal Bassy, but I suppose I'll give him a chance due to popular demand. Don't see how a guy who has put up 10 PER for four seasons straight now can become a start, but we'll see. Carlos Boozer was the comparison that many draft sites were giving him. Probably because of size, position and skin tone.
Next recap up tomorrow. Real Clippers are on pace for about 38 wins, and I'm aiming for something around the homer prediction. We'll see. Update for this should be tomorrow. Also will have a Nellieball recap. Surprising four-game stand to say the least...
Thanks for following.
