Lamrock wrote:Yeah, I don't like Kaman. He is doing well in real life, but I suck at using him and I'd rather keep Camby and DJ. Telfair has been good as of late (21 points in 15 minutes on 9-11 shooting in the last game, in case you missed it), so I'm not looking to acquire Bynum. Austin Daye is intriguing though...

After Tremendous First Half, Clippers Defeat Hornets For Second Straight
Clippers 103, Hornets 95
December 21, 2009 - After a masterpiece of a first half, we folded on defense, and nearly let the Hornets get away with the win. Fortunately, a rare good game from Al Thornton helped us hold them off, giving us our first "win streak" of the season. It also has us at .500 for the first time this year.
We got off to a fantastic start. The Hornets, coming off a blowout loss to the Kings, looked stagnant on offense, and we jumped out to a quick 22-8 lead. Star Chris Paul was held scoreless and committed a pair of quarters in that first period, which concluded in our favor, 27-15. By comparison, fellow star Baron Davis had 9 points already.
The second period was more of the same defensively, with the Hornets seldom scoring, and being out-rebounded. We were able to build on our lead, but we began to have our struggles as well. Baron missed five consecutive shots, and our post players couldn't get it going on offense. Sebastian Telfair made a couple nice plays in limited playing time, and we concluded half with a commanding 49-30 lead. Was it over? Think again.
The third quarter proved to be a sea change, as it was all offense, and the Hornets seemingly could not miss. Chris Kaman, who has been included in trade rumors, scored 9 of his 11 in the third period, but we were outscored by a dozen, and saw our lead fall to just seven points, 75-68. Rookie Marcus Thornton concluded the quarter by sinking the first three-pointer of his NBA career.
Thankfully, we regained our barrings in the fourth quarter. A trey (Rasual Butler's only score of the game) triggered a 13-4 run, that put us back in the driver's seat. Midway through the quarter we were able to put our reserves in for garbage time. DeAndre Jordan sucked it up, turning it over twice, and shooting 1-5, but the fact that it didn't matter prevented him from being a shitass. New Orleans didn't give up, with their starters remaining in the game, and making the score look closer than it was. The fans who left early missed some bizarre Hornets plays. They were called for five 24-second violations in the fourth quarter.
The victory puts us at .500 for the first time since early in the 2007-08 season. We also now currently sit in 8th place in the Western Conference. However, we have played the least amount of games so far, with 6. (The Grizzlies have already played 16!) Whether we continue to be halfway decent remains to be seen. Four of six games have been at home, and only one has been played against a team that is currently at .500 or better (the now 6-3 Pacers). Furthermore, our Pythagorean record stands at 2-4. We have a decent chance at getting our first winning record in two years when the 3-8 Utah Jazz come to town.![]()
Al Thornton actually didn't blow it for us this time | The "marquee match-up" was a disappointment![]()

JORDAN Player Of The Game: Al Thornton (Clippers): 22 points, 9 rebounds (15 minutes)
Al Thornton shot okay (10-19) and put up season highs in scoring and rebounding to help secure the win. With Baron suffering from a poor shooting night, and Rasual Butler's hot streak over (he scored 3 points in 15 minutes), the combo forward took over, enjoying his best game of the year.MCDWYANE Shitass Of The Game: James Posey (Hornets): 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2-13 FG (32 minutes)
The guy who was to get the Hornets over the championship hump showed just how worthy he was of his contract by using 13 possessions to score 5 points. Posey was instrumental in New Orleans' poor first half performance. Hang in there guys! He's only locked in for another three years.
