This will be a new 'old school' (Live 06) dynasty finally featuring my hometown Golden State Warriors and some serious franchise overhaulin'... we're talking a MAJOR enema, from the top exec down to the sweat-mop boy

ClutchMod for NBA Live 06

Here's where I'll keep my custom CFs for Live06, available to whomever wants to use them ('custom' usually means I wasn't satisfied w/the existing PC Proj Patch CF and tweaked it somehow; could be simple, like polish to a face texture or fixing a headband or more extreme like new head shape)

To use them, simply:

1) download then extract the "CMod_(date)" folder to your desktop;
2) copy all files** from the "CMod_(date)" folder to your sgsm folder usually located here:

C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 06\sgsm

** You can also choose just a specific player by selecting all related files with the player's abbreviated name (ex: "stcurry", "anrando" or "keazubu" for Steph Curry, Anthony Randolph or Kelenna Azubuike) then copying them over to your sgsm folder

NOTE: Copying these files will overwrite your originals

I highly recommend making a backup of your entire sgsm folder BEFORE adding any of my CMod CFs. That way if you don't like a mod I've done (say, Steph Curry for ex) you can restore his original CF by copying all related player files ("stcurry" in this example) from the backup copied sgsm folder to your working sgsm folder.

"We Believe!" was the war cry that once carried the underdog Golden State Warriors past the juggernaut Dallas Mavericks to one of the greatest, most memorable 1st-round Playoff upsets in recent NBA history. A trio of seasoned veterans - Capt'n Jack, J-Rich and B-Diddy - led the rag-tag squad of bright-eyed over-achievers coached by Don Nelson, the headmaster of a unique brand of attacking, high-scoring basketball simply referred to as, "Nellie Ball."

That was summer 2007, when 13 years of post-season drought finally came to an end and even the most jaded, cynical Warrior fan sincerely believed only brighter days lay ahead for their young, rebellious upstarts.

Forward to January 2010... where cold, harsh reality couldn't be any further from that golden summer fairytale.

Less than a handful of players remained from that magical '07 roster and long-time GM and former player, Chris Mullin, had been relieved of his duties during the off-season, replaced ironically by former Maverick's assistant coach and advanced scout, Larry Riley.

A young, under-sized team coupled with an epidemic of freak injuries (some season-ending) had crippled Golden State, turning their otherwise high-octane offense into nothing more than a confused, inconsistent scramble.

Meanwhile, coach Nelson's unique ability to squeeze "small ball" magic from his players finally seemed to be running dry and the disenchanted, injury-plagued Warriors carried a heavy 13-33 record into February, winning only 2 of January's last 11 games.

But long before February, Nellie knew his experiment to partner versatile scorer, Monta Ellis, and talented rookie, Stephen Curry, had failed. The two possessed comparable skills physically, but in tandem, were under-sized against many of the league's bigger backcourts. But the bigger, underlying problem was that tensions between the two grew as Ellis increasingly perceived the rookie's talent and competitiveness as a threat. Whether consciously or not, the offensive-minded Ellis looked more and more for his own shot; where Curry deferred to his teammate, often to a fault.

Riley wanted answers. So did the fans.

Coach Nelson knew the rivalry between Ellis and Curry would only continue to fester, grow and further splinter the team. He knew some kind of change was necessary and that he would be held accountable for the decision.

With the trade deadline looming, it was time for Nellie to gamble.

This is gonna be great! The Warriors are definitely very different from the Spurs, so interesting choice.

As Martti says two really different squads. And I haven't seen a Warriors story in a while.

Like the team choice. A young an exciting team. Good luck.

I was thinking of using them well I think it's better that you used them than me as you are the better dynasty maker

I'd recommend using the Warriors as is for a while. I made a huge mistake with Nellieball shuffling my roster too much. Looking forward to it.

Warriors "Move Forward" In 4-Team Blockbuster

Feb 18, 2010 Oakland, CA -- GM Larry Riley and head coach Don Nelson finally decided who the Warriors want to build their future around… but it isn't Monta Ellis.

In a surprising yet not entirely unexpected move, Riley announced the release of Monta Ellis and Corey Maggette to acquire Sacramento sharp-shooter Kevin Martin and Houston bigman Carl Landry as part of a massive 4-team blockbuster trade involving New York, Houston, Sacramento and Golden State.

"It's important for our team that the drama is out of the way," Warriors general manager Larry Riley said in reference to a growing friction between Ellis and talented rookie point, Stephen Curry. "Now, we can move forward."

The trade sent Tracy McGrady from Houston to New York, in exchange for Jared Jeffries, Jordan Hill, and future 1st-round picks. Houston also received Hilton Armstrong from Sacramento and Monta Ellis from Golden State.

Golden State acquired Carl Landry from Houston (via Sacramento) and Kevin Martin from Sacramento (via Houston), who in turn received Corey Maggette from the Warriors and Joey Dorsey from the Rockets.

For the Warriors, the departure of Ellis marks the beginning of a new era, one that now falls squarely on the shoulders of their promising rookie point guard. In his first season, Curry is currently averaging 15.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

"Ultimately only time will tell if we've made the right decision," said head coach, Don Nelson. "But I see tremendous potential in Steph and now I think we've brought in a couple solid players who can really help turn this ball club around."

Good trade for you. You got rid of Ellis now your team can grow with Curry as the main man.

Nellie Upbeat Despite Loss

Feb 22, 2010 Oakland, CA -- The Golden State Warriors were easily dispatched in a 112-96 home defeat to the visiting Denver Nuggets. They slide to a 15-38 record on the season (third worst behind Minnesota and New Jersey) and have dropped 5 of their last 6 games; but you'd hardly guess the team's woes by Don Nelson's post-game comments.

"I'm excited again," Nellie told reporters following the loss. "The effort was there tonight; we just need to work on our execution a little more and get our guys healthy. But all n' all, I'm happy with what I saw." And there's much to be positive about, from Nellie's perspective.

Tonight marked the official start of the Stephen Curry era, after Monta Ellis' trade to the Rockets and Corey Maggette's trade to the Kings. With the pressure and expectations high, the young rookie did not disappoint. Curry shot 48% from the field, including one from downtown, on his way to a 23 point, 5 assist night.

"I know where I stand now, and what this team expects of me," said Curry after the match. "This organization has put its trust in me and I mean to make the most of it."

The night also saw the debut of sharp-shooter Kevin Martin, acquired from Nor Cal rival Sacramento, and bigman Carl Landry who was acquired by trade from the Rockets; both players met or exceeded expectations.

Martin proves not only to be capable of scoring in bunches but now provides the Warriors with a legit closer at the free-throw stripe. He finished with a team-high 27 points including 7-of-8 from the line. Landry also had impressive numbers in his first game as a Warrior, finishing the night with 12 points and a team-high 7 rebounds.

Another reason for Nelson's glee was the return of forward Kelenna Azubuike who made his return from knee injury, but came off the bench and was played sparingly. "It (the knee) definitely doesn't feel 100% yet; they'll take a look at it again, do more tests then decide what's best for me." Azubuike played only 8 minutes and finished with 6 points on 2-of-5 shooting.

The Denver Nuggets, in stark contrast to Golden State, looked like a well-oiled machine and were led by J.R. Smith who had a team-high 26 points. Veteran forward Kenyon Martin also had a monstrous night and finished with 22 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.

The Warriors held even with the Nuggets through the first quarter; but a 22-34 second quarter collapse gave Denver a sizable lead that ultimately proved too much to overcome. The Nuggets' balanced offense saw 7 players finish in double digits.

"I really don't worry about what the other team does at this point," reiterated Nelson. "What matters to me is how our guys play and the effort they give me. Once we get everyone back and healthy, we'll be fine."
