Is there any HOF eligible former Finals MVP's not in there today?

Eitherway, Parker helped his case a lot tonight.

25 years old. 3 rings. Finals MVP.

A list of people on their way to HOF can't leave him out.

interesting article. i wont deny tp played great, but td is the reason san antonio is san antonio. i don't understand why anyone would think that tp was more valuable than td. this case is similar to when maxwell (btw, is he in the hof?) won the finals mvp over bird in 81, and to me inexplicable. In the end, who cares, he won, he has 3 other final mvps, but I just think the trophy went the wrong person. people say tp controlled the pace, not true, look at the scores, td controlled the pace, td is the reason lebron had minimal effect in the paint, td is the one drawing the doubles and triples and pushing it back out.

hmm Duncan a better post player than Olajuwon? that is TRULY SILLY...

Offensively Duncan is a very good post player.. defensively extremely good..

I don't see TD having that many post moves.. he doesn't have an unstoppable go to move, which is okay... He is versatile down there...

The Dream, Jabbar, Wilt and Shaq are definitely better post players...

However Spurs team is 1 of the best i've seen.. The Spurs Dynasty is compose of a great team oriented game.. Duncan is their most dominant player...

I would put Duncan offensively as good as prob Ewing, David Robinson, the 2nd tier post player all-time...

Defensively, he doesn't block as many shots.. but Spurs is such a great defensive team ..

Duncan is 1 of da most consistent superstars ever i would say, b/c he isn't an athletic player... And also happen to be on an extremely good system/team ever since he was drafted...

I would say Hakeem had stiff competition from Jordan's bulls back then, or else he would have prob won more championships... His team wasn't as good as spurs either..

Put Hakeem in his perfect team... maybe something like the Suns right now... For 12 years, i bet he'll win more than 4 championship rings..

I would say Duncan's awsome b/c he is fundamental therefore his career will last even when he ages.. Also he has a great attitude and is unselfish.. But he just isn't as dominant as a single figure as the big great centers.. on Def (blocking shots) and Off(scoring down low)

If Parker continues to improve, he is HOF-able.. If he plays well for a few more years but then Spurs suck after the Duncan-era, then i am sure he won't get in..

I think on another decent team, and giving him a few more years, he is a 20-24 point scorer with 6 assists.. thats pretty good.. All-star level player definately..

I dont' even know how Hall of Fame is picked.. What is consider a HOF player?

I guess it was simply about acknowledging that Parker had a great series against the Cavs more than downplaying Duncan's importance to the Spurs though that line of thinking does snub Duncan, albeit unintentionally.

you're right, i just think its such a shame that td is so vastly underappreciated during his time. I wonder if there is substance to the idea that if he were in ny or la, he probably would be hailed as the second coming of jesus right now. I mean people have the chance of watching a legend akin to bill russell, and all they can talk about is being bored. its ridiculous imo. The problem may be also that there is really nothing about td's persnal life worth talking about; people do seem to be drawn and taken in by such drama.

Well he gets the job done. He is really the media's dream or anything. He isn't fucking Eva Longoria, he isn't demanding a trade, he isn't pulling off unbelievable moves driving to the paint, he isn't playing exhilariting basketball. He's just getting it done.

Which is what some people like. Even that fundamental way of playing basketball is amazing. The level of difficulty that takes opposed to just thriving off of athletisism isn't comprehended by many.

I don't care for who he's fucking, what his reasons are for being unhappy or why he cuts himself at night. Boo hoo for you.

I watch for the game, and he is literally the definition of everything that is supposed to be right about the game of basketball.

You got that right. I dislike him as a player simply because he's a Spur and I'm a big Dallas fan :P

But damn, his figures are freakishly consistent. Apart from like, one season where he averaged 18 or something, his points total has wavered by no more than one, and his rebounds total wavered by no more than two. And then there's the blocked shots and the things he adds to the Spurs.

I can't say the Spurs are an amazing dynasty compared to other teams though, they're playing in a rather soft era where their players such as Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have the space to drive in more often due to the rules. If they played in the 80s or early 90s, I'm not sure they'd have space.
