The game overall is pretty crap. However, I noticed some elements of it that I really liked. It would be awesome if EA's was at the level of this game in these particlar facets of the gameplay.
1. Ball Physics - The ball moves very realistically. It doesn't come down into a pre determined players hands, it goes where it goes, just like a real ball. The way it spins in the hands of the player looks great, as does the way it bounces when it hits the rim or backboard.
2. Player Movement - Not the animations, but the speed you can move your player. I'm playing with a joypad and and I can walk very slowly, walk normally, slightly jog, etc. I move as I move the joystick. This is awesome, in Live theres run or walk. In this your speed depends entirely on how you move the joystick.
3. Game Highlights - Highlights being shown at the end of the game! Something I have want to see in Live 08. The highlights weren't bad either, they looked quite nice and the camera angles on the replays (along with the slow motion effects) were great.
4. Foot Planting - The thing that shocked me by far the most. There is no sliding what so ever in this game. The players move with their foot steps, the same "foot planting" type movement they showed in the previews for Next Gen Live. If the people that make this game can do it, why can't a huge company like EA? The foot planting is fantastic, I didn't notice any sliding what so ever.
