I think Isiah Thomas will sign him again, about $23 millions per year during 8 years.

Well, seriously... I can see him in Orlando, they have enough cap room for a minimum salary or so, and he could help one or two seasons there, until youngsters keep progressing.

I'm going to watch my Nets now, see ya later alligator.

Anyway, I can really see him going to Miami and playing with alongside the other "stars" who couldn't win anything on their own. If Larry Brown was still Detroits coach I'd say Rose in Detroit isn't even a possible, but with Flip trying to make them more offensive it COULD happen but I don't see a need for it on their part.

Delfino is our only backup at SF... we are one injury away from being terminally screwed

With rose, we would have a legitamite 3man rotation at the guard and sf spots

Haha, to make things clear, I don't really like Webber and wish we could get rid of him for something decent in exchange (which unfortuneately seems impossible considering his age, health and contract...) but I have to admit that he played quite above my expectations last season and him and Iverson worked extremely well together.

latrell sprewell had attitude problems that's why the teams hated him.. He's insane!! I think Rose could be signing in Phoenix.. If he does that.. The chance of the Suns going to the finals would be added up from 75% to 80%..

i'd rather have Delfino than Rose playing, and Rose wanted 20mpg.

^^Didn't see that coming. I'm going to laugh my head off if this means we'll see Rose dunk more now because of all the alley-oop lobs Phoenix throws with Nash  . Also, Phoenix's bench gets even more deep if Rose chooses to accept his role on the team.

So much for the Miami situation being close to a done deal. Not a bad move by either party. If given the green light to shoot Rose could prove himself useful to the Suns similar to the way Tim Thomas had a productive run in the Phoenix system last year. For the Suns, it's a fairly low risk move since they can afford to cut him loose if things don't go as planned.

Very unexpected move from the Suns... I guess the Suns can keep playing smallball with Rose at say SF and Marion and Diaw can stay playing at C and PF with Amare there also. So many different combinations now for them if Rose proves to be a nice pickup. (Y)

Why? The Heat could have used another scorer who could split time at the SF, SG and PG spots. He would have been a decent boost to their depth.

Also the fact that Gary Payton and Alonzo Mourning are most probably going to retire after this season... he could be at least another vet who can step into those two guy's shoes to help lead the team next year if he were to stay for longer than just this season.

It's official now:
http://www.nba.com/news/334461.html

I like the move and I really like to see Rose in Phoenix rather than in Miami. Miami is going to break down the next few seasons with Payton, Mourning, Shaq and Walker going to retire. Adding another veteran does not seem to be the right move. They need youth and talent but unfortunately they didn't do anything to get that (besides of Haslem of course).

Phoenix has an awesome roster, maybe the best since the old lakers and bulls. I hope they can make something out of it. They have youth with Amare, Barbosa, Diaw, Veterans still in their prime with Nash and Marion, and some solid players like Bell, Rose, Banks and Thomas. But I see Diaw one of their stars going after this season, they just can't afford having Marion, Nash, Stoudemire, Diaw, Barbosa and Bell on the same team. Considering they signed Barbosa to an extension it might be Diaw or Bell who will leave the time after the next season.

That is one of the most assanine things I have ever read. Phoenix has a great system and a point guard that runs the system perfectly, but they are far far away from the best roster in the NBA much less the best since the Bulls/ Lakers teams.

I definitely think playing in the Suns system & playing with Nash will help Jalen and boost his stats a little bit. He'll probably play the Tim THomas role from last year.

That's a good point, but I actually think Phoenix will try to use Jalen as a backup point in a lot of situations. I feel they made this pickup because they aren't really happy with Marcus Banks, and they feel he'd be better off the ball as a 2 for them.

Okay, so then tell me which other team in the last decade had this amount of star players on a team? (Nash, Marion, Stoudemire)

Or this amount of more than solid players who could easily get into the starting 5 of another team? (Barbosa, Bell, Diaw, Rose, Jones, Thomas)

Edit: I forgot to add that I'm only speaking of this amount of good players not of the success of the team. I'm quite sure that the suns can't compete with the Bulls or Lakers allthough they did not have this number of great players on the team.

In the last decade? Come on, that's too easy. You can't be serious about that. Marion is a fantastic player, but put him somewhere else where he doesn't play in a system that fits him so well or with a point guard that he works with so well and he doesn't put up these numbers. Stoudemire has shown signs in his first two seasons of being a great player, but I haven't seen anything yet this season to prove that he's going to be able to come back from that surgery. He had a great season in 04-05, but this isn't a guy who's ever made an all-star team or cemented himself as an elite big man yet. Do you think those three are a better trio then Parker/Ginobili/Duncan? What about Hinrich/Gordon/Wallace? Jefferson/Kidd/Carter? Bibby/Artest/Miller? Brand/Cassell/Kaman? I'm not even arguing that all of these trios are better, but they certainly all compare.

Um, I don't think any of those guys would start for any team in the entire league, except for Bell and MAYBE Diaw. All of those guys (except Rose) are perfect examples of products of a system, they are all role players on any team at best.

Keep in mind, I'm not knocking Phoenix, I like them a lot, but what you said was dumb.

I haven't said that they are a better trio or even a better team. I just said that the Phoenix lineup is very impressive player-wise but I don't think they will be as successful as other teams. The lineup itself reads itself as a mix of all-stars and future stars. That's all I said

I also didn't say that they would start for any other team in the entire NBA. I agree with you, Diaw maybe, but I think Barbosa too. I'm not rooting for Phoenix either as I've been a Spurs fan since the early 90's.

I got to admit that you have a point there and my previous post might seem a little bit stupid and misleading. Gotta take more care in the future :)

Well, actually you said this roster is the best since the Bulls/Lakers.

I love Phoenix, they are one of my favorite teams to watch, I just try to get people to be carefull of overrating players on the team. Everyone on that team is a product of a great coaching staff and a great system. Remember how good Kenyon Martin was with JKidd and that team in New Jersey? Same thing with guys from Phoenix.

Diaw signed a 5-year or so contract extension with Phoenix this past offseason.
