He just said he was opting out of the last year of his contract, he didn't say he was going to leave and find another team. He just wants more money it seems, I'm not sure if it's a good idea for them to resign him. They have Granger.

They report that Peja is going to resign. I dont know about this though. A lot of people have been saying that he is going to go into free agency. Maybe this was a good move for Indiana
The Pacers dont need to go into rebuilding mode. They are one player away, just like the pistons in 2004 before they picked up rasheed
Matt wrote:Maggette was on offer...i'd take him over Stojakovic anyday.
Pacers don't have any chances of winning a title unless they go into semi-rebuild mode.

My real thought is on Rick Carlisle though. I really, REALLY hope that he is gone. He simply is not the right coach for this group, period.
Matt wrote:i loved Rick Carlisle when he was in Detroit, but what i learnt though is that he's not a good playoff coach. He just might be the best reg. season coach in the league, getting wins he shouldn't be getting, but in the playoffs he just doesn't make necessary adjustments and he's really holding his team back.

Why the hell does that saying apply to Peja in any way? He is the slowest one on one defender in the world.
_marsal wrote:I agree that Rick should leave..IMO he should have got Danny, David and Saras more playing time..But i also think that Peja should stay..why not use him like Reggie? As much as i love Reggie, his defense wasn't all that better than Peja's (although it was slightly better)..And Indy, i don't think it's fair to judge Peja's game in these series because of his injury..Yes, he choked in previous years but hey, as poorly as he played in these 2 games, Indiana won. And lost all four of them when he was out..I wouldn't say that's a coincidence..And yeah, bring P. Silas in
Matt wrote:Granger needs to start next season for sure. He's got immense talent, just needs to work on his shot some more.
Indy wrote:As far as getting Saras more playing time, he got plenty of chances and over time proved himself that he just isn't capable of playing large NBA minutes. He can't play defense, he didn't shoot the ball well at all for the most part, and he turns the ball over when you put pressure on him. Saras was a mistake signing unfortunately so far, but I would be shocked to see LB give up on him so early, since he was his guy for quite a while.
_marsal wrote:I disagree. What Saras needs is consistent PT. Because lack of PT obviously effects his confidence.
