That would be the "Mike Tyson" look.

what the hell is up with yao. the guy is on a mission, and im loving it, he's actually dominating and torching his opponents now. too bad he has no help whatsoever though.

Yao is doing great, and as everyone has said, he's not getting any help. To make it worse, most the guys on the team don't have any trade value. Luther Head has a good future, Swift still has some value, but the rest is .... A lot of the guys are old, another guy is Alston. I don't know what Rocket's salary cap looks like, but

my point about him being too slow with his shot, he got swatted by Jason Kidd.

well, everyone's gonna get swatted by kidd, he does things that guards are suppose to be able to do. no need to try and downgrade yao by pointing one one specific thing out of many that happened during the game

his turnaround jumper and hook shots are pretty fast, its just that, he is double teamed initially, i don't mind my center getting swatted as long as hes makng his shots and dominating, offensively, he is a handful

he is okay defensively, i wouldn't say he is bad..

Do you really think that a 300-pound guy is supposed to be able to keep up with Vince Carter?

In the black/blue forums before Yao was drafted, I spent every single post either building up how good he was going to be, or bagging Vince Carter. I'm entitled to some Asian Yao-love :cheeky:

Yao's PER without tonight's game is a staggering 25.5 and that's including his "bad" first half of the season. I'm guessing his PER is near 30 after the all-star break.
PER-wise he's the 8th most efficient player in the league...
I want his babies.

EDIT:
Thanks to Benji...

His post all-star break PER is.... 34.34!!!

31 points 14 rebounds 1.8 assists 2.5 blocks per 40 minutes. 62% shooting from the field, 87% from the line.

20.1 rebound rate (Twice league average).

6.2(!) turnover rate. (Guys who are spot-up shooters don't get turnover rates that low.)

I know it's only 10 or so games but... Best player in the league BY A MILE in this stretch...

I saw Dampier block someone in a Dallas game the other day, then start screaming and beating his chest... I just kept thinking "you wanker, you do realise you've been knocked out of the starting team by DeSagana fucking Diop?"

Just for comparison's sake (and to be a homer) Jordan's highest PER season was 31.7 and Wilt's was 32.1
