v1.01 released...

Andrew wrote:The wait is finally over! A new version (v1.01) of the current roster update for NBA Live 06 has been released and is waiting to be downloaded here.

Key features of v1.01:
- 2005/2006 Rosters accurate as of 26/12/05
- Player ratings updated
- Primacy ratings adjusted for better shot distribution
- Player positions, gear and data updated/corrected
- Player contracts & salaries updated
- Missing legends added, complete with cyberfaces
- Some missing cyberfaces added
- Teamgear updated
- FAQ section added to Update.txt

Feedback as always is welcome. Hopefully I'll be able to include a set of sliders soon.

A few release notes:

I've had a bit of success tweaking the Primacy ratings as noted in the key features. However, I'm still working on it. Also, because of the way the game recalculates ratings like Primacy at its own discretion, it's easily messed up again by creating or editing players, as well as injuries in Dynasty Mode. Similar story for shooting ranges and DUNKPACKs. Please base any feedback on those attributes on an unmodified version of the rosters.

I have done my best with the salaries/contracts, not all information was available and some rounding has been done. But I feel it's at least 99% accurate. )

I have changed a lot of ratings, with a focus on rebounding/blocking/stealing ratings as well as players who have improved or declined. I haven't stopped updating ratings, this has just been a bulk update. I know there's still work that can be done and ratings will have to change as the season goes on.

I'm not sure when the next update will be. Since I've done a lot of ratings on this one the next update might be primarily a transactions/lineup update, especially if Ron Artest is dealt soon.

That's about it, I think. Enjoy. :)

What's is going on with injured players on new season? Are they back in roster?

The current rosters reflect the real life inactive lists. I haven't included an Uninjured version in this update as I was really pushing to get this one done, I didn't want to delay it any further. Most likely the next version, since it'll be easier to implement now.

Funny you should mention that, it's covered in the new FAQ. :) If you'd like to modify it for your own use by all means go ahead. If you don't agree with some of my ratings or whatever, feel free to change it. Just don't re-release it as your own update. ;)

Okur still is pretty low at 3-point shooting with 58, but I'm not going to change it because you're probably right. How exactly do you calculate the ratings? Nice update on the rosters. ;)

EDIT Read the FAQ, answered my question.

I'd actually thought I'd made it higher than that. Ah well, like I said I'm not updating for the year so we'll see. :)

Yeah, it's 58. I'm thinking it should be around 70 or 71. What do you think?

Perhaps not that high, but I'll certainly review it again and consider it.

I mean: i.e. Yao is injured in your roster, so he is outside playing roster. When will he be back on playing roster (in Dynasty Mode, when I'm playing other team than Rockets)? On new season? never?

The CPU will activate him at some point. It's not set to happen at any particular time.

Because his ratings were updated and while there is significance in the overall, I do not adjust the other ratings simply to make the overall look better. If you have any specific suggestions to make about the individual ratings, please let me know.

Hats off to you for the rosters Andrew. This is a great post Christmas present!

Your rosters & the NLSC website have helped to bring me back to a series that I have loved since I was a teenager. May you, your family & NLSC have great success in 2006!
