Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:43 pm

Dallas 61
Kobe 62 ( lakers overall right now is 95)

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:47 pm

awesome..

but look at his assist total: 0

goooo triangle offense!

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:49 pm

Holy shit. That should help my fantasy league team.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:50 pm

32 points in the first half..

30 in the third quarter alone
jesus christ, he's not human

i'm convinced he could've hit 80 tonight if he was playing in the 4th.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:51 pm

he has 8 rebounds

besides why pass when he alone is beating them?
at the end of the 3rd it was
Kobe 62 (30 in the 3rd)
Dallas 61

'nuff said

this is his best game where no one can complain
legit opponent
no shaq
nothing to say more than good job.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:54 pm

the game's not on TV, but who was guarding him tonight?

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:54 pm

One more quarter to go. Let's see if Jax wants to please David Stern and Co. Kobe BRyant jersey sales will go up after today! (Y)

Dallas: Legit? One of the worst defensive teams in basketball for years now.

Kobe- 25 Free throws and 30 shots in 3 quarters who the hell is guarding him?

30 shots, 3 Quarters = Gunning in my book.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:02 pm

If he's going to make them I don't care if he takes 20 shots per quarter.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:04 pm

Holy shit 62!!!!

Has the game finished yet?

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:06 pm

So what if it's Dallas? To be a guard and get above 50 is actually quite a feat. Tmac took 37 shots to get to 62 when he was in Orlando against Washington... is that gunning or does Washington at that time discredit him in any way?

What about the nights he isn't making them? Do you still want him taking the 26 shots a night he averages?
His problem is he don't know when to stop shooting.
I would rather get my team involved, that's how Championships are won.
Spurs, Piston's to name a couple.

T-Mac is a gunner too.

Dallas are actually getting much better in defense anyways. It isn't as if they are the same team as a couple of seasons ago. With Avery Johnson at the helm they have become a much better defensive side. I haven't seen any of the game or anything but I would guess they probably put Josh Howard or Marquis Daniels on Kobe (correct me if I am wrong) and those two are no slouches on defense.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:12 pm

Wow, I really don't have anything to add but some superlatives. So...

Amazing.

Astonishing

Astounding

etc.

Well someone was playing slouch defense, because Kobe shot 25 free throws in 3 quarters.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:13 pm

Dallas isn't that bad a team either. They actually have a winning record. So in the last 10 games, they only lost twice.. and both losses came against Kobe. This performance isn't a fluke and is legit. It's not like Yao vs. Atlanta. Cause Kobe's actually done it before wheras in the game where Yao exploded... he hasn' done it much after that game.

Slouch defence doesn't neccsearily lead to fouls. Maybe Kobe was just the better player tonight. (Y)

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:16 pm

Josh Howard's a good defender, I'm assuming that's who was on him.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:20 pm

too bad he didn't play in the 4th, 62 in 3 is impressive

still doesn't beat jordan 69points tho

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:21 pm

why didn't kobe played in the last quarter?

anyway 30 points in a quarter, holy shit

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:23 pm

62 points in 29 minutes...wow. 25 free throws helps a bit but still...

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:25 pm

The Lakers were already winning and I guess the Lakers thought it was better to let their reserves play in the 'garbage' time.

Yes... MJ's 69 point game vs the Cavs was better... Don't forget MJ also had 18 boards and 6 dimes if I recall correctly.

Good game by Kobe. Just wondering... did he play much in the 2nd quarter?

I finded jordan record what was 71 pts against Boston in playoffs r smt.

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:31 pm

My bad.. saw Kobe had 15, 17 then 30... therefore answers my question.. he did play in the 2nd quarter. Sorry fellas. :)

Wed Dec 21, 2005 4:33 pm

Jordan scored 63 in the 1986 Playoffs (game 2, round 1) against Boston which still stands as the record high for the postseason.

Answering soemone's question:

LATimes wrote:Mavericks coach Avery Johnson said before the game he would use "the whole team" to guard Bryant, and several different Dallas players gave it a go with very little success.
