I dunno, would Shaq be better off if Wade was a good longe range shooter & didn't drive at all? Isn't that just Damon Jones?
And Timmy's #s aren't dwindling, in fact the opposite is happening. Parker's aggressiveness at attacking the other team's basket has resulted in Timmy scoring more than he did last year (21.7 ppg vs 20.3) and he's scoring MUCH easier (53%FG vs 49%FG). All his other stats are slightly up, his rebounds, his assists, his FT shooting (althought that might because he's actually hitting at a good rate), his blocks are up as well.
If Parker & Ginobli settled into just kick-out jump shooters and saved all their energy for defense, the Spurs would essentially have 3 Bowens and it would like LeBron without Hughes, like Shaq without Wade, like Kobe without...oh wait he still has nobody.
I think the current trend of more Parker on offense is because of two things that won't last, 1) resting Duncan for end of season & playoffs 2) Parker is scoring at a freakish 56%.
