He's barely getting minutes early in the season and I really dont understand because Hassel is not really that good. I am wondering if the coach just doesnt like to rely on the young players but I will remain optimistic and hopefully he will get some minutes in the foreseeable future.
He is playing a decent amount of minutes. Hassell is better than McCants and is probably a top 5 defender in the league. Offensively, Hassell is extremely underrated. He can hit the open jumper and he can attack the basket.
The reason why McCants only played 4 minutes against Seattle is because Casey wanted him to keep his confidence up. He didn't want him to go against Ray Allen in his 2nd career game.
Last night, McCants looked good and had a few good defensive and offensive plays. I think as time goes on and McCants learns the NBA and Casey's system he'll get more playing time. He's too talented not to.
