KG wants to be traded, because he wants to win, that guy is almost 30 years old, and he was the first player straight to NBA from high school, nobody knows how much longer he can play,, if he stays in Wolves(thanks for the correction), he's gonna wait years before he wins a ring, Wolves let Sam and Spree walk, and did not get any help for KG, so KG has to be upset, really upset. Without a good point guard or a center, the Lakers are not going anywhere. I think that Lamar Odom is better off somewhere else where he can get the ball, but this isn't a good trade for the lakers. They are losing too much. Besides, the salary doens't even work out. KG and Wally together has about 30 million while Odom is less than 15 Mil. The Lakers have nothing worth giving up for KG by himself, let alone a second key player like Wally World. Forget matching salaries for a moment; there's just no way the Timberwolves would trade KG unless it was a blockbuster deal with a superstar coming in return. Add that to the fact that there haven't been any rumblings about KG demanding a trade as well as the fact he has no leverage since he recently signed a long extension and a trade to LA really seems unlikely.

I was looking through the forums and when I saw this, I had to reply.

Why is Garnett not going to LA?

1. He has stated numerous times that he wants to end his career in Minnesota. "I'm Minnesotan" is one of the best quotes I've heard from him. But honestly, if Garnett was getting frustrated about not winning he wouldn't have signed a 5 year contract extension two years ago when we hadn't gotten out of the first round yet. Some people underestimate his loyalty to the club.

2. Garnett has a "two way no trade clause". Which basically means, even if Garnett demands a trade the Timberwolves have to lift their no trade clause as well. The likelyhood of that happening is close to impossible. Glen Taylor knows that the only reason why people buy tickets and buy Wolves merchandise is because of Garnett. If Taylor trades Garnett (who is a very good friend of his), he will lose out on ticket sales, merchandise sales and sponsers. He would lose millions and millions and he'd lose the best player in the world.

3. Garnett's wife loves it here in Minnesota. They have a nice home in Osceo and she wants to stay in Minnesota. I imagine Garnett as being henpecked, so I would assume he wouldn't do anything without her approval.

4. If the Wolves did trade Garnett, which is as likely as the Pacers trading Reggie Miller in his prime, they wouldn't deal him to a Western Conference team. That would be stupid and McHale would be shot on the spot.

All in all, these Garnett rumors make my head spin. Some people just make up rumors just so their name can get on the web or in the headlines. It's not going to happen. The season is too close to starting, the team as already had a mini camp WITH GARNETT THERE and Garnett has talked to everyone of his teammates telling them to come into camp in shape and ready to play. Sound like a guy who wants to leave Minnesota and lift his no trade clause? I don't think so.

The Wolves did their move this summer... By trading Cassell and letting Spree go... Those two moves cleared the slate and probably will make for a good run at things in a year or two... The wolves have been building around KG for such a long time and they know they've got the best damn player in the league and they are not going to give him up...

Bryant and KG on the same team... No good will come out of that. KG controls the ball and Kobe does so too... Either Curry or KG will be a Laker, paperwork has already sent to the league office, we will know that by the end of next week, I think they are still waiting for Curry's physical, and also, Profit is the player lakers got from the butler-Kwame trade, he won't be traded until Oct.1, which may also be a reason why Lakers havent made any move yet.

If lakers trade straight up with Wolves, it looks like Wolves are losing big, but if a third team is involved, Bulls, Wolves will not end up to badly, they can start their rebuild mode now by getting the ending contracts, and Curry, and in 3 or 4 years again when KG is older and slower, they will be back in the playoff again. I said, a 3 way deal should make all 3 teams happy. If wolves can trade KG for a superstar, they would already done so, why didnt they do anything? Teams like Nuggests, Kings, all can give up some good players for KG, but they already have all theirs pieces together, they donot want to redo what they already done just for KG. So, if KG is getting traded, it will be to LA.

Mihm goes to Bulls, not Odom, Mihm gives bulls the defense Scott wants, he can rebound, he can block shot from the weak side, and he plays great at home.
