No.

and if by "Wrestling" you mean WWE, and ECW, and stuff... No. No it's not.
If you mean actuall wrestling, like they do in High School, and Olympics, yes that is a sport.

Cheerleading is just inegrated into a sport, like basketball or football, but it clearly is not a sport.

Why the hell would you make a thread about stupid crap like this?

1. No, I don't think it's a sport at all, but it could as well be since it's basicly the excact same thing as synchronized swimming* if you take away the water.

2. Moved to Other Sports.

* Little known fact, is that Sweden is the only country that officially has a synchronized swimming team for men.

sport ( P ) Pronunciation Key (spôrt, sprt)
n.

1. Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
2. A particular form of this activity.
3. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
4. An active pastime; recreation.

Read that over a few times.

"Active"

Yeah figure skating might be the queerest sport out there, but it's technically a sport bud. Things like Dog shows are just ridiculous.

Therefore, Cheerleading is a sport.

Unless there are strict rules about winning, losing, points, goals... there is no measure for competition. Unless there are judges involved. I don't think cheerleading uses a point system and a group of judges, so it's not really a sport.

As Legend has pointed out, by definition competitive cheerleading is a sport. Having said that, despite the fact it has elements that are physically challenging, I wouldn't hold it in the same esteem as gymnastics, track and field, swimming and ball sports.

I agree with that statement. I was just looking at the technicality of it.

meh, judges aren't really a concrete way of measuring and stuff to be considered a sport for me but technically of course it is a sport. just like chess is.

sport is any excercise in which a part of the body is being used that tires it says a friend of mine duringa debate on whether chess is a sport. We concluded since chess requires constant usage of the arms and mental capcity of humans, it qualifies as a sport!
