Whats funny Mazz, is i have seen them show Poker and Dog Shows on Sportscentre............its quite sad.

Unless there are strict rules about winning, losing, points, goals... there is no measure for competition. Unless there are judges involved. I don't think cheerleading uses a point system and a group of judges, so it's not really a sport.
