11 3's! he's 11-16 atm, and theres 4 minutes left. I think the record is 12 in game by kobe..
Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:24 am
The record has been tied! Go Donyell! You're my hero!
Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:25 am
12-18 from 3, 38 points. Awesome game for Donyell.
Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:27 am
I just don't get how the sixers can always get off to a good start and just get trounced in the end. I checked in on the score with 11:24 left in 4th, and the raptors already had 99. I just don't get it.
Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:51 am
damn i didnt even realize he tied to record, good game by him
Mon Mar 14, 2005 12:10 pm
Whoo!! Damn, I'm glad Donyell got it! That's sweet ass. Good for him!
Mon Mar 14, 2005 12:13 pm
Luckily Babcock did not trade him...
Mon Mar 14, 2005 12:36 pm
The Raptors also tied their franchise high in points with 128 points in the game, and they also beat the NBA team record of three's made [19] by making 21 three's in the game.
Marshall could've beat the record of three's made if Milt Palacio and Pape Sow weren't so selfish
Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:05 pm
What a shocking moment!!...
Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:15 pm
I watched it, and it wasn't all Donyell. He did have a very good game, but at least 10 of the 3's he attempted were not contested at all. Philly basically stopped defending him. Neither Dalembert or Webber stayed on him when he would back out so he had open looks the whole night. You would think that after he started the game 5/5 from 3 that they might pay some attention to him.
Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:38 pm
Yeah, except Donyell said it best, "They are predicated on stopping you in the paint and making you shoot outside jump shots. When you have a coach taht preaches that style they're goign to keep doing that no matter what."
Mon Mar 14, 2005 1:42 pm
So he didn't break it? Also, once he tied it, were there any potential record breakers that he missed?

Curiousity!!
Mon Mar 14, 2005 2:04 pm
Donyell is a great guy for the L. glad to see him tie kobes record.
Mon Mar 14, 2005 2:08 pm
Impressive and unexpected. Come on Reggie, lets see you top this to end your career!
Mon Mar 14, 2005 2:19 pm
WHOA, this was amazing!
I wanted him to break it, but, I'm glad nonetheless.
Good for him, now the only thing that's missing is Donyell going to a good team.

I believe there was two shots he rushed that could have broken the record. So he
was 12-16 at one point.

i always thought donyell was pretty underrated....
Mon Mar 14, 2005 4:29 pm
He disappeared briefly after his rookie season but resurrected his career in 1997 and has become a solid veteran forward. His stock has certainly risen after the trade to Utah back in 2000.
Mon Mar 14, 2005 7:59 pm
HaHa! Well done Donyell, i didnt think anyone other than Redd or Allen would get close to Kobe, well there is Q-Rich and Korver jackin up 10 a game also
Mon Mar 14, 2005 11:52 pm
i dont mind Donyell having a great game but does it have to be vs the Sixers...
Tue Mar 15, 2005 7:39 am
He got lucky, that's all

Nah, good for him, and the Raptors. Webber is an asshole. He said to Marshall "If you keep getting those looks, go for the record"
Tue Mar 15, 2005 10:00 pm
This is great for him!
But for me.. its also making me hope Kobe will be motivated to go on a fluke three point streak.. and then a few gaems later- 40+ point game streak! well.. thats what happened back in the day...
But great stuff by Marshall!
Wed Mar 16, 2005 12:32 pm
anyone know the record before kobe , if im not mistaken it was steve kerr or reggie miller , im just wondering.
Wed Mar 16, 2005 3:18 pm
^Michael Redd maybe?
Wed Mar 16, 2005 3:38 pm
Dennis Scott held it. I think it was 9 three's made..
