If that's what took place, then it seems as though the Eastern squad would be happy with MJ starting - except Carter. Isiah Thomas is the coach...the words "Carter Freezeout" come to mind.
Hey Clinton, that's what silly Walton said, we can't confirm that.
I mean, why wouldn't he ask those that have already offered it?.
Carter was voted as a starter by the fans
why should he HAVE to give up his spot and why should he HAVE to play less minutes because Jordan's on the team?
It's simply not fair to Carter
Besides, I think it's pretty low from Isiah to do such a thing if he did.
I think he's just still holding a grudge against the Raptors because they started to become a good team once he left the organisation
I'm pretty sure a reporter said it, then Walton and Scott went on to discuss it. Walton shared much the same view as Isiah.
He said the only guy who doesn't deserve his spot in the starting lineup can give it up, Vince Carter.
Because Jordan is the greatest player we have ever seen
Looks to me that Carter got lucky.
He didn't ask Carter to make his decision or anything like that.
Carter deserves his spot
he gave his starting spot to MJ.
He did. And Carter made a decision.

Clinton wrote:Because Jordan deserves the spot more then Carter. Because Jordan is the greatest player we have ever seen and is playing in his last all-star game.
Clinton wrote:Because MJ only needs 10 points to become the leading scorer in allstar history.
Clinton wrote:Because he should have that respect for MJ. The same respect TMac and Iverson have shown by offering their spots.
Clinton wrote:Looks to me that Carter got lucky. Starting in the allstar game on reputation alone.
Clinton wrote:Nothing to do with his play this season.
Clinton wrote: I am really gonna laugh if he injuries himself in the allstar game. I know it isn't a great thing to say but it would be funny.
Clinton wrote:You mean like he did to Jordan.
Clinton wrote:What?!?! He knows he didn't.
Andrew wrote:Just out of interest, if this was any other player except Michael Jordan (who you don't seem to like), would you feel this way?
You don't have any proofs but what Walton said
Good to see him missing dunks again. Go MJ.
Why doesn't Carter deserve his spot?
That's either respect or looking for publicity
Isn't that the only reason Jordan started? Because of his reputation?
Stackhouse or Ricky Davis would have his spot...
That would be hillarious! Someone just gets back from injury and they get hurt, hahahahahaha...what kind of sports fan are you?
Clinton wrote:Because he has hardly played all year and has got into the starters without any effort.
Clinton wrote:Yeah, that's why TMac and Iverson offered their spots, publicity, nice one. They respect this man. They all look up to him. It's respect, nothing else.
Clinton wrote:No, because it's his last allstar game in his last NBA season. Carter will have plenty more allstar games to go to.
Clinton wrote:Stack's injured and Ricky Davis hasn't being playing that much better then MJ.
Clinton wrote:One who thinks a player should worry about his own team before risking another injury in an All Star game. What sort of sports fan are you for not wanting the greatest player to play the game start in his final allstar game?
MJ got on the team because of his reputation
he was playing only a little better than MJ, he's more deserving, no?
Carter didn't get hurt, and he also didn't shoot 30% from the floor...
Shaq seems to have good passing technics
this was a GREAT All-Star Game!!!
