Well first off the blazers are a good team but I do believe they are ranked too high.... I would still put the Pistons on front of them, as well as the Rockets.... Mavericks should be top 10 as well, the window is closing but I still believe Dallas will contend.

Fri Aug 22, 2008 4:02 am

Pacers aregonna be higher than 27. They are gonna be Top 20

Fri Aug 22, 2008 4:52 am

The Blazers are a top 10... but not that high...

I would move up the Jazz 3 or 4 spots

Fri Aug 22, 2008 5:17 am

Isn't this a bit premature? We aren't even sure where some players will end up still. Either way, I'll make my own. I don't want to explain every single team, so ask about any of them. (like you would care to)

Yours is pretty interesting, predicting 50+ wins for Indiana and Dallas, and for the Hawks to be the worst team in the East. I can't wait to see if you're right.

Fri Aug 22, 2008 9:55 am

I won't be right, and it's not a prediction (there is absolutely zero way for me to know how teams will screw up their rotation, who will be injured or slump, how the rookies and second year players will change), it's merely a power ranking of where I think the teams stand today.

The one from USA Today shows just how laughable it is that people get paid to write crap like this.
Sacramento Kings At least they have Beno Udrih.

Yeah, it's not like they have Kevin Martin, or Brad Miller.
Golden State Warriors It will be interesting to see how they play without Baron.
Toronto Raptors Impressive Olympian Bosh now has frontcourt sidekick in Jermaine O'Neal.
Miami Heat Dwyane Wade is definitely back, and has help in Beasley and Marion.
Charlotte Bobcats Not as good as they seem on paper.
Minnesota Timberwolves With Miller, Foye, Jefferson, Love, Wolves could make a move.

Brilliant stuff. I understand completely why he put the teams in the order he did.

Blazers at 5.... FAIL

Sun Aug 24, 2008 5:57 pm

Sixers up that high? Does Brand really make that much of a difference?

considering they made the playoffs last year and the east is relatively weak, brand's presence should make a big impact.

The Sixers are a team that showed major improvement last year and have a lot of guys coming close to a real upswing in their careers. Replacing Reggie Evans with Elton Brand as your low post threat with a team already loaded with athleticism and a great facilitator in Andre Miller will do a ton. I think they can make up for their lack of 3-point shooting by leading the league in field goal percentage. They are better than Detroit, book it.

Mon Aug 25, 2008 4:20 pm

Argh, I didn't realise they made the playoffs last year . Must be thinking of 06-07.

They could finish quite high if they mesh early but I'm still not *completely* sold.

Mon Aug 25, 2008 4:35 pm

Yeah, that Elton Brand player sure does ruin team chemistry.

Mon Aug 25, 2008 4:42 pm

nah, miami gonna win more that 50+, mark my words!

Tue Aug 26, 2008 3:46 am

Golden State ahead of Phoenix?

I would change that

Tue Aug 26, 2008 5:58 am

lal is not going to be first seeded.I think boston will remain his number 1 spot and sas will edge lal.

Tue Aug 26, 2008 7:25 am

Do you have reasoning aside of being a Spurs fan? The Lakers were the runners up this past season, and while Boston loses a key player, the Lakers gain one.

Tue Aug 26, 2008 8:27 am

boston lost who? spurs have still parker, ginobili and duncan and why not to repeat their 2007 championship? They are still very good team.
