I thought it was always the aiact, but I think another possible reason for the multiplayer problem is because we modify the VIV files instead of just putting files in the sgsm directory. Why don't you copy your entire Live installation to another folder, and use that one to play with SUM when your not playing online. If all you do is play online, then your probably out of luck. I've only successfully completed one game without disconnecting, so I don't try it much. SUM really isn't made with multiplayer in mind.
One little thing you could try first is to change the camera file back to default by getting it from the DVD, assuming that you installed the camera since it is optional. Get these two files - nbacam.mgd and nbarepl.mgd.
When you had SUM V1 installed, were you ever able to fix your multiplayer problem?
SUM V2 didn't contain an aiact.
