As much as I want to say that EA is totally blowing us off here, you have to take into an account they're a company, and every company has days off. Perhaps they're not open on the weekend. But who knows. Also, they haven't even changed their main EA Sports page yet. Live is still 'coming soon' according to them.

My solution to this issue is to just forget about Live and pick up another game. Thats it.

As time passes I realize more and more how offensive it is to fans of EA for them to release a game like this. So many issues people have argued passionately over for years have not been fully resolved and I can fully understand why people are acting the way they are. If this was the only game I waited for all year I'd be shitting myself too (Thank got for PES and FM among others).

Again, just pick up another game. Let them know you have options. Return the game if you dont like it. Why keep it? If everyone who hates it returns it then I'm sure videogame stores wont buy the games in large numbers much longer. If you do like it then keep it, everybody has their own taste. It just doesnt make much sense to get all flustered over something we have little control over as illustrated during the past few years.

At least people are finally seeing the light. For the last two years here I've had all of the Live section test tube failures tell me I was a 2K fanboy, hate EA for no reason, shouldn't be a mod because of this etc... seriously, if people didn't see this coming they're just blind. The worst part about it is that they release the absolute worst game of the Live series at the same time as they start supporting the NLSC more than ever (the Canada trip, all of the screenshots/interviews etc)... I wonder if they knew the game was garbage and wanted to do some damage control with the community before it was released.

Now as much as I'd like to see EA pick up it's glory from the dirt, we still have to realize that we don't owe them jackshit. We're nothing but potential customers and if their product doesn't satisfy us, we buy something else, plain and simple. My friend (who knows nothing about basketball games) is hyped about next gen NBA Live and I'm trying to convince him to buy 2k7, just the sake of buying the best possible product for the money.

I feel for Andrew the most in all of this....they've obviously shown him the parts of the game they wanted him to see....Andrew gave good reviews, but that was based on his short time with the games....but after Andrew's reviews on 360 version, I knew that version would be crap....the minute he said that game felt different playing it, I thought of shit, this is gonna be crap, & unfortunately, I was right....

The PC version is borderline straight profit, they port the XBOX version to the PS2 and PC, since there's no real PC production fees they don't lose any money on putting it out. They sell a million copies even if everyone on this forum doesn't buy one.

That's why they stopped making PC focused versions (Live 98-2001) of the console game and just started porting it.

this game is called NBA live. the lack of substitution does not reflect nba basketball. rookies retiring healthy after one season is not nba basketball, and empty arenas would be one thing, but an nba game with no nba players on the court is not nba basketball.

if you didn't pay for nba-like, nba-ish, or nba-to-come-next-year live, you can demand these fixes or refunds. the features may be added dings that they can talk around, but that nba moniker means they are representing the big league with their product, and this doesn't cut it. you have a petition going, you have email proof that these were made aware to the company, now look at exposure.

you guys are all over the world, and you're all on this site if you're reading this which means you have access to radio and tv stations all over the world who have nice little contact numbers and emails that you can send info like this to them through. and when the flood gets thick enough with complaints it becomes news to them.

when it becomes news that hits one station, another may look into it. before you know it, people who sit thinking they just got screwed out of their money may see or hear the stir and think, i too can let my unhappiness about this be known.

this is not a win or lose thing so there is no failure in trying, besides would ea or any other company allow any of you to pick up a copy of their games
play them and then decide how much you think you should give them for it?
or do they ship you the product while their payment is on hold until you feel the product is good enough to release payment?

you paid for an nba game that does not say it no longer supports the substitution of cpu or human players. a little league game may have both teams play only the starting five the whole game, but substituting is a part of organized basketball everywhere. except nba-live 2007.

i hope something in there made some kind of point, the response to donatello seems like (no accusations toward any party, nor from my statements intent) damage control inside a major corp., which usually prevents the escalation of discontent by discouraging open contact which could lead to awareness by those who gladly accept your money, make more money with it, and then pays the nice salaries of those who have gotten you to give them your money, while keeping your unhappiness a department secret.

just an opinion of course, and btw i support ea as always, and still feel that it's more than was available while i was growing up, and has at least not become stale and totally boring, but they know these problems exist, and this was not some favor they did for any of you, they have a side to the purchase agreement as well.

or petition the nba to leave starters in until foul trouble if this is how they are being represented.

That's the right way, because they assumed we all gonna buy their games, so they just don't put effort on them. I think they tested the game just doing pick up games and looking at menus, but they didn't play it deeper as we do.

what does respect have to do with anything? respect is what ea says they have for the people who buy their games every year, you too if you've bought it, so what is todays value on respect. their concern about keeping their contact info hidden seemed to be more relevant than what anyone here thinks of the games problems.

why do i support ea? are the makers of 2k7 going to patch nba live? the nba sure as hell isn't, patchers would if they could, as of now that ain't gonna happen. so who exactly can do anything about your concerns or anger or wanting your money back. and by support, i haven't even bought the game, so i posted out of frustration for what all these people here that i don't know have expressed from their disappointment.

so supporting them and wanting them to make a product that i would like to enjoy in exchange for my money is exactly why i can complain. which member here created any of these glitches? none. but you should give them the RESPECT they want to keep their support. well have they earned it? but the info is gone.

if you didn't order the game from them you are not even an order number to them in all of this. when something isn't right, it's not always the non-support or hating that gets things done. sometimes it's the kick in the butt from those making or breaking you that is the most support.

if for $40 they can put out a game that is at least playable and on par with what a basketball reproduction should be, i will spend it and get what enjoyment i can. so maybe support could have been worded differently, however to me what you're implying is standing by them, that i don't.

so if i earn no respect for supporting them until they basically say publically that this is what you get for $40, buggy and all we ain't fixing it, then so be it. what i don't support is how they seem to view and treat you and everybody else because your voice to them is some support complaint, or post on a board, or the order number they sent you for ordering the game.

support the hell out of them until they realize that you ARE THE REASON that they make this game, and limiting response to one individual on their terms is not good support in return, support them till they give your money back if they won't fix it, support them till they realize you're upset people with legitimate gripes the game caused in return for your money.

they respect the collective funds they've gotten from you, they should respect the collective voices and complaints and sources of those funds.
but that ssssshhhhhhh, don't tell the others what i tell you, or who i am attitude needs to be stopped or you'll go through the same thing again and again. kind of like what's going on now. the sweet personal approach brought chastisement, so why not make a big loud statement that says you really should treat your consumers better than that.

yet again just my opinion, but hating on the game, that's little and not really what my other post was about, but treating not just the people here, but everywhere, that gave them a reason to even start making the game in the first place like guest number 101 at a party for 100 after you've paid for your spot ain't acceptable.

and with respect to Andrew and the other mods, if you feel ea will take offense then by all means delete both posts, if there is a respectable way of getting across to them that these are human beings behind all these nice usernames and not just a bunch of gamers, and that this oops is big and bad enough that they should for once TREAT the customer like he's always right and not take offense at what they have to say, then hopefully someone can make it happen.

good luck whichever way this goes.

sure i'll use paragraphs, when you can guarantee me that someone from ea will read it and care because it's in paragraph form. if you can do that i'll type it in paragraph in any language you want, i'll even draw pretty little flowers all over it to make it even more pleasant for you.

paragraph two: sorry i didn't make it nice and tidy for anyone, so don't read it if you don't want to. hell delete it if it's that bad. people want something done about the problems with the game and you're worried about grammar. i typed it as i felt it, not so the president could read his address to the nation from it. it's a message board in a thread about a video games problems. ignore it or pick up the hobbit and read paragraphs. ea would appreciate that more anyway.

paragraph three: not meant to offend, but i really wasn't thinking about how the damned thing looked nor what anyone thought of it, since if i wasted my time to type it perfectly and sent it to a publisher to proofread and then posted it, someone would find reason to comment on how proper it was. what difference does it really make? if someone wants to read it in all it's ugliness they will, those who don't won't. other than that was there anything else in there that personally offended you?
