you love Arcade basketball!
but if you love a challenging game, not just match the cpu on every basket, but a challenge in making a basket for yourself and the cpu; and actually play some team basketball, getting the whole team invole, not just score 60% of the points with Carter, calling plays, and see the cpu call plays; where playing smart team basketball and defense is essential; with real fatigue--where if you try to play one on one for the entire game, you're guarrantee to lose. if you like the sound of this, then change is neede,
you're a SIM freak?

I just wish there was a way to combine the two
EXACTLY....the same ppl who say the game is arcade are those who attempt 50-60shots with their fave player and complain afterwards, live06 is some real fucking sim wit sliders, how many ppl actually involve the bench players?how many ppl constantly pull on the L trigger waitin to dunk on every possessionAndrew wrote:The way I see it, NBA Live is still a simulation at heart, I think it endeavours to be a simulation but the problem is, they're currently trying to find a balance between realism and fun, with the "fun" elements coming at the expense of realism. But no argument from me. I prefer sim to arcade style, so I'm all for the balance moving away from "fun" in favour of realism.

johnnyboy wrote:ok, this don't make any sense, people on this forum always say "we only only have two choice, either real OR fun". c'mon people, real IS fun if you're for sim. you either think arcade is fun or sim is fun, if you prefer sim over arcade then realism will be fun. but if you hate getting your jumshots miss 50-60% of the time and having a hard time getting to the basket, then real wouldn't be fun for you.
but i say to you, how many of you people buy a game(any game), and just beat it at a medium level and go on with your life? not much i'm hoping. if there's a hall of fame difficulty, then you would want to conquor it. even for micheal jordan, when the NBA seems too easy for him, he retired. so if you find making a basket is so hard, you just give up, and find a short cut and make dunks everytime, then you're not mastering anything the game has to offer, NBA or virtual NBA. PLAY SMART, AND FIND THAT OPEN SHOT!

if you hate both, then you hate the NBA(2k) and basketball(EAa) or you have a problem...........and you don't need to be in houston

Allow me to clarify. By "fun", I'm referring to elements that would make the game fun for the casual gamer or someone not all that interested in realism. I think the current aim is to balance the game between being realistic and being appealing for the general gamer and those of us who want as much realism as possible suffer as a result.
Absolutely, it can be fun and realistic. That's how I feel about a realistic basketball game. But when I say "fun", I'm talking about gearing the game towards the general user, the casual basketball/sports fan looking for a basketball game filled with dunks and whatnot.

when i started this thread, i have no intention of bringing up 2k6, because i was expecting every to vote no, and stick with LIVE being arcade. but that was never the case, as you can see 24 approve to zero, and all the complaints from the posters saying the game being arcade............and i have said this many times before, what you like, LIVE or 2k, arcade or sim, is your opinion, and 2k is sim while live is arcade is the facts. but everyone is complaing that they hate "the best game" being arcade, like they don't know about 2k being a sim. you know how ironic that sounds? don't you think its just logical to try something that have your personnality and likes written all over the cover? or just try something else(cause there are options) if you hate what you have?
