Thanks guys.. good job!

The difference is mainly gameplay. IJBL version 2 are a lot faster, and in my opinion nice to play. They work very, very well, and produce nice stats, and good games. I am currently on the verge of changing the minutes from 9 a quarter to 10.

Nicossantos sliders are more of a simulation; the game is a lot slower; nearer the pace of real BBall I suppose. The statisitcs produced can be excellent. It is also hard to score those sliders I find without driving and kicking, taking it to the hole is very hard. But they are very good sliders. I recommend trying both, and then using the one you like best.

Yeah.. i've do it. The problem was solved, but then i thought about the Dynasty Mode and the new rookies to come.. they will have an off. rebound ability, much much better than the rest!
I know i can edit their ability too, but editing a lot of players every season.. seems too much for me.

Anyway, i tried what JeremyK said about taking a good position for the rebounds... and it worked a bit hehehe.. the off. rebound were around 10-12, not the 20-25 i usually see.

But it still makes me angry that in several games (nearly 1 out of 3) some stats become crazy. I.E. yesterday i played a game in which Toronto shoot 20 free throws and i didn't shoot!!! And the next one.. becomes normal.. I don't know if it is 'cause my way to play the game.. but i'm close to say that 2005 was better than 06... well... patience is a virtue..

If your not happy with it, simply try another slider set. Last year I went through about 10 before I found the right one!

Yes.. it's just what i'm trying one time, and another, and another and... but this year is a little more difficult to find it than other years.

Maybe there's no other solution than dbf editing. :(

oh....i have made a patch "RealNBA06" to PLAY ONLINE with realism silders

but because i'm a Chinese and my English is poor. there is only the Chinese version patch.

Could somebody who speak English&Chinese to help me translate the patch? then i can upload the English version...

For the offensive rebounding, I would say that might be the only solution. I haven't done it though, it doesn't annoy me to the level where I would start editing ratings.

Thats pretty weird, Kobe and other high flighers usually shoot %s way too high. Just take it to the hole and do some superstar dunks (L1 + X,O,etc). If your still getting poor results, consider increasing your user medium and long range shooting, and/or your user Adjusted Shot Percentage, an/or the user Poor Release Shot Percent. IMO this would make the game very easy, but do whatever suits your style I suppose.

ya,tats wat i do last time, increase the long and medium range shooting to about 70,than i will be able to score 50 ++ points per game in 5 minutes per quater, too easy and unreal, therefore i try to use brad fliter, but than my shooting is too low nw....:S
way too low....i was using kobe as outside scorer, mayb i should use him as highflier to seee.....hm.....

This one is pretty good, but i keep losing. i guess i have to practice with these sliders for now. Great job

I tired.. really tired of this game.. i'm very very close to play 05 instead of 06. I have played right now just the first quarter of a lakers-blazers and, with the same sliders than yesterday worked quite well, today in just 4 minutes of play the result was LAL: 20 - POR: 6 with a 85% FG for LAL and a 12% for POR. Kobe 100% in FG with 16 points, and i won't talk about off. rebound because we all know what happens...

This game is a SHIT!

hey
im having problems with offensive rebounds too and i definately would not go to the extent of editing ratings since i want to play a dynasty, without too much hassle i might add. right now, the computer gets about 19 offensive boards per game (10minutes quaters, superstar, off rbd sliders at 0 and def rbd at 100)
that is still bearable..however what im miffed at is that, shots in the paint layups or normal shots are unstoppable. whether i get a hand in their face or they just push my player away. what makes it worse is that this occurs often right after the CPU grabs an offensive board.
is there anyway without editing ratings to solve this problem?

Glad you like them. I suppose you could always alter a couple of things to make them a little bit easier, but once you get going with them, they should be fine. But just so you know, if you play with a poor team such as the Bobcats or Hornets, don't expect to win a lot of games. If you play with a contender, such as the Heat or Spurs, it's a lot easier to get Ws. I am the Celtics in my franchise; I am currently at 10-8. I am also playing with 10mins a quarter now; 9mins might be a little too short.

Give my sliders a go, and stick with them for a while. They might be tough at first, but once you get going, they should work.

I recommend trying a whole new slider set, such as mine (IJBL version 2.0), brad feets, or nicossantos'.

Hope this helps you guys!

I'll try them ijbl... i don't want to think i've wasted 50 Euros of my money :)

The only problem is that i still play in all-star level (superstar is too much for me), but i think it will be the same by lowering and raising some sliders.

I scanned this thread and tried a few sliders and these are really good. I really like how both teams get an even amount of fouls and the flow of the game is almost perfect. My only gripe is 3-PT shooting I was missing alot of open shots (4/18) but increasing the slider should solve it for me. Overall I really enjoy these they feel realistic.

Based on babythugs sliders posted by doublej and some research on the web, I've made what I think are the best sliders to play on SUPERSTAR-level. Here they are:

Level: Superstar/Press Box View -2 clicks from DEFAULT Camera

Minutes: 12

Game Speed: 40
Free Throw Difficulty: 100 - practice harder!!!
Boundary Force Field: 75
Injury Frequency: 60
Fatigue Effect: 50
Charge/Block Foul Frequency: 100
Shooting Foul Frequency: 40
Reach-in Foul Frequency: 60
In-air Collision Foul Frequency: 100

USER:

User Steal Ability: 50 - how else can you average 8 to 12 steals a game on superstar???
User Interception Ability: 35
User Shot Block Ability: 25
User Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability: 45
User Freestyle Effectiveness: 40
User Dunk vs. Lay-up Frequency: 35
User Substitution Frequency: 0
User On-ball Defense Assist: 65
User Offensive Rebounding: 45
User Defensive Rebounding: 85 - get good position on the rebound and box out or push your opponent behind the board!!!
User Fakeout Discipline: 85
User Short Range Shooting: 35
User Medium Range Shooting: 40
User Long Range Shooting: 35
User Dunk Percentage: 40
User Lay-up Percentage: 45 - otherwise alley-oops that end with a contested lay-up will create a lot of BS moments
User Adjusted Shot Percentage: 35
User On-ball Physical Defense: 60
User Poor Release Shot Percent: 30
User Double-team Effectiveness: 55
User Pro Hop Effectiveness: 20
User Drop Step Effectiveness: 40 - pretty realistic, gives CPU time to react

CPU:

CPU Steal Ability: 60
CPU Interception Ability: 25
CPU Shot Block Ability: 25
CPU Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability: 55
CPU Freestyle Effectiveness: 40
CPU Dunk Frequency: 40
CPU Substitution Frequency: 100
CPU Offensive Rebounding: 45 - get good position on the rebound and box out or push your opponent behind the board!!!
CPU Defensive Rebounding: 85
CPU Fakeout Discipline: 75
CPU Short Range Shooting: 35
CPU Medium Range Shooting: 40
CPU Long Range Shooting: 35
CPU Dunk Percentage: 40
CPU Lay-up Percentage: 45
CPU Adjusted Shot Percentage: 35
CPU Adjusted Shot Frequency: 40
CPU On-ball Physical Defense: 60
CPU Poor Release Shot Percent: 30
CPU Double-team Effectiveness: 60
CPU Pro Hop Effectiveness: 25
CPU Drop Step Effectiveness: 50

Any suggestions or remarks are welcome!! I want to keep the game as realistic as possible.
Use these sliders with the playbooks posted elsewhere on this site and the CPU will give you a very realistic matchup!!

update 20oct. 2005
Yesterday I saw some sliders somewhere from a guy who claimed that when you bump the USER and CPU offensive rebounding rating up, the CPU will actually take less offensive rebounds. So I tested it out and it seems to work!! So I've bumped up my offensive rebounding to 45 for both CPU and user and modified my defensive rebounding to 85.
Try it out and let me know what you think...

Good job!

Hopefully they will trade Peja for Artest and both teams will be fine!

I wouldn't touch the 3-Pt slider because not all teams will shoot the same based on personel. Also, I posted a play chart for all teams and described how most plays work so you should take a look at that thread it might help you to reduce the amount of 3-Pt shot's taken because the thread talks about who the primary options are on the play and gives you a better idea of where the shot should come from.

But overall the sliders were built around my Team Specific Playbooks which has some CPU teams attacking the rim and some shooting more outside shot's. Also the DEFAULT Playbooks won't give you the change up defenses my Playbooks allow the CPU to run during a course of the game. So, you'll see some teams Zone, Press and Trap on occasions if you setup the Playbooks.

Good job!

Thanks. I still have a couple of issues that I want to iron out though, it is just a matter of minor tweaking. So look out for version 2.1 sometime soon. Version 2.0 is still pretty good though.

Depends what you like; depends how you play the game. Test them out. Wish I could help you more, but it really is all about personal preference; several good slider sets are posted here.

ok well i want some good sliders and i dont have the time to test out each slider on this thread, usualy i can jus figure it out myself, but for some reason i cant get them just rite this year...... i want realistic sliders so that players will play the same as they do in real life ex) lebron averaged 27 ppg 7 boards and 7 asists last year... i want him to average around those stats when i play a game... i also want a challenging game that wont be decided till the 4th quarter...
