skoadam wrote:One more guys, please change options/game settings/coach settings/defense playcalling from auto to manual because when its set to auto, our defense in 99% of time is set to 3-2 zone, this can ruin even the best roster and sliders. For manual, default set is man to man defence.

even if we don't use URB sliders or this tip is for all sliders?

are you 100% sure this is also issue with custom sliders?
is there any other workaround except setting defense to manual? in every 2k game i set it to auto, that's the way i'm used to play.
slimm44 wrote:Armon, are you sure about the other factors in determining inside shot percentage other than standing layup? I am pretty sure I remember doing a ridiculous amount of testing back at the end of 2013 when this game was released and chalked the variations of %'s with any standing layup rating to statistical variance. I don't have the notes I used to keep of sims, but I am almost certain I remember nothing but standing layup and statistical variance impacting inside shot %.
skoadam wrote:Ok, what i want you to test, run the game on auto and tell me, do you often feel like your players in defense are far away from guys on the wing, immposible to defense against 3, especially when cpu pg is trying to go inside the paint. If yes and im almost sure about this, change to manual and see the difference.

i already noticed that in 2-3 games i played, but i thought it was part of the defense setting...
ok, what is the final solution to fix this in order we can set auto settings back? what needs to be edited again?

No, leave manual because. Its not a matter of roster or sliders, its just hardcoded in game. When you have auto, defense almost always is set to 3-2 Zone. When you set on manual and you are not using this in game, it doesnt matter, most important for you is defense default set is man to man. You can leave auto for offensive plays.

Wasnt there a finding that Standing Layup/Inside shot ratings were way too low across the board? As in, most ratings would have to be in the 90-110 range to be accurate to NBA percentages? This was mentioned in the operationsports thread, and here
http://forums.nba-live.com/viewtopic.ph ... it=ratings
I recall many rosters adding 99 inside ratings(Before it was changed to Standing Layup) after this was discovered. How come this hasn't be adopted?

there is no such issue in 2k13, right?

So we have two missing players from sixers roster and i will update all assistant coaches. I think i will update few rotations, for sure Bulls, because it looks like new strategy for this team. I will update few accessories also.
slimm44 wrote:I see what you are saying, but when you set defensive playcalling to manual in 2k14 it does the same thing as setting it to auto does in 2k13. 2k13 only calls man to man defense when playcalling is set to auto and zone defense is set to 0, 2k14 only calls man defense when playcalling is set to manual.
Have you tried this yet on 2k14?
