Wow. I'm having serious problem runnign this game on high.

AMD phenom 2 x6 1055t 2.8 ghz
8 gig ram
r9 280x tri-x 3gb


It's runnign really slow. DO you guys have an idea?? I'm surprised

I'm at 19 fps this is crazy.

It's hard to tell what the issue is. There are people here with Phenom II X4 that are getting better performance then you.
Could be that the CPU needs to be clocked higher than 2.8GHz, or maybe there is something faulty with your GPU. When working at 100% your computer shouldn't be getting so low of a FPS.

I haven't upgraded in 4 years. Just didn't see the need. PC games have been pretty stagnant for a long while now. Far Cry 3 ran perfectly fine. Call of Duty began s*cking. The only hint that I needed to upgrade was that the latest COD would not run on my machine cause I did not have DX 11 capable video cards.

33fps is not bad at all for your specs. Gives me great hope that my rig will run it well too. The 2k programmers did a good job optimizing the code. I only consider a game unplayable if it averages under 25 fps. (I'm not picky.)

normally 33 is fine. In this game though it is not IMO. The animations get really choppy and the controls start to lag a bit under 60. IMO the NBA2k games need to run at a full 60 fps to be playable.

I absolutely agree with deluxxe. 60 FPS is a must for me in NBA 2k

I wonder if some people are suffering from bad frame time variance (that can't be seen by normal FPS numbers), maybe it's a slow HDD causing small stutters. Anyone think the slower FPS could be due to the VRAM size? Maybe 2K used pretty big textures.

You guys should all try to optimize your PC by minimizing start up programs and other resource hogs while the game is running. It'll speed up your computer start-up time too.

Use them to see what is running in the background and, if they're unnecessary, get rid of them. Also add/remove programs in windows that you don't ever use or need to kill those running processes.

57-60 Fps , Maxed, but I had to turn AA down to 2
cut scenes are real bad 30 - 40 range and really choppy.

I hope its something simple, because I banked on PC version this year. Anyone have any suggestions?

If the drop in FPS is during cut scenes I wonder if it has to do with HDD speed. If someone could share their FPS during cutscenes also it could be an issue with just the cutscenes.

Have you tried playing with just a single 6950? Could be a Crossfire issue also.

Nah, wouldn't have anything to do with hdd speed. Once the game is running the CPU, GPU, and RAM are doing all the work. The hdd shouldn't be accessed at all during gameplay. Only when loading and saving and changing options, etc.

Well when my HDD is fully loaded (reading/writing) the system slows down like crazy. It rarely happens at all with 7200RPM HDDS but when running a game on a 5400RPM it happens sometimes. Even if it's not the game but if something else is running in the background. But yeah it seems like many games don't have good support for SLI/Crossfire at least at launch.

Right now its running off of a 7200RPM HDD. I have a 60 gig SSD drive I could try and re load it on if you guys think it will make a difference, Though I am kind of scared of it uninstalling and steam never letting me re install it. lol . Deluxe - I will also try disabling crossfire, but I bet I am pretty limited with only one active card. Crossfire is a pain in the ass,

The game is probably using the integrated intel GPU instead of your 870. You might have to make a profile for the game in the nvidia control panel and tell it to use the GTX instead.

I think what is happening for you is that 2K15 is using the IGP (Intel HD Graphics 4600) of your laptop instead of the GTX 870M. This has happened to me in some games where the game uses the Intel HD Graphics 4000 instead of my GT 650M. Nvidia Optimus is suppose to switch the GPU used depending on what is being done. Most likely it isn't doing it's job correctly.

The GTX 870M is basically a Desktop GTX 760 Ti with slower core/memory clock speeds, and smaller memory bus width. So it will be a little slower. In my opinion there is no way a GTX 760 (Ti) would struggle to run the game at the lowest settings.

Here are a few suggestions.

1) When playing games make sure your Windows power settings is set to High Performance
2) Go to your NVIDIA Geforce Driver Software Settings. Manually set the computer to use the Dedicated video card (GTX 870M)

After doing those two steps try playing again.

I believe your second GPU is inactive (A.K.A. There is no CrossfireX profile associated with the game), and that is why you are getting sub-par performance.
I have two 7850 HD 2GB cards in CrossfireX and I have experienced this.
I have tried two different profiles with little success. The AFR Friendly (I experienced better performance but bad artifacts) and 1x1 (I experienced better performance but its all over the place making for a VERY incosistent experience).

Anyway I will try more profiles and report back, If you could do the SAME that would be awesome.

You're all going to laugh at me... I am on the road for business (I travel for work a lot) and away from my gaming PC for the next few days. However having pre-ordered NBA2K15 already, I decided to bring my controller along with me and see if I could play at all on my laptop.

My specs:

MacBook Pro (running Windows 7 via Bootcamp)
2.4 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo
8GB RAM
512 GB SSD (Samsung EVO 840)
NVIDIA 9600GT - 256 MB

NOW.... when you're done laughing... I have found in the past that with a very modest bit of overclocking that I can play a lot of games that I should have no business playing on this laptop. NBA 2K14 ran smooth as silk even when I had it connected to a 27in external monitor at full resolution.

Obviously NBA2K15 is a different animal.... After looking at the recommended/minimum specs and seeing that the game really did have a 50GB footprint (btw... they couldn't crunch it down a little bit? It seems like they don't want to bother compressing the audio at all and that takes up a big chunk of space)

My experiment last night was "can I even play this game on my 5 year old MacBook Pro at the lowest graphics settings?" Well... The answer is YES, which surprised me. With everything turned to low it plays quite smoothly. However with the graphics settings turned all the way down the players look like creepy freak-show versions of themselves whenever there is a closeup of their faces. Their hair/facial hair looks like choppy rectangles jutting out in a pattern that vaguely resembles their actual hair.

So next I started pushing up the settings little by little. I more or less found that I can put player detail and textures up to medium but if I want to do that I need to bring down the resolution and push the overclocking a little higher.

I didn't expect to be able to play the game at all on this laptop so I was pleasantly surprised that I could in fact play a quick game if I wanted to on it (albeit without any of the real shine that next gen offers).

I've been putting off buying a new MacBook Pro for a while, waiting for a refresh and I'm going to be ordering myself a new over the weekend. The one I'm buying has the following specs:

2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based flash storage 1
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB GDDR5 memory

I'm hoping I can run 2K15 with those specs with the graphics turned all the way up (or close to all the way up), because as I said I travel a lot for work and I like to unwind at night in the hotel by playing a game. It'd be really nice to have the "full next-gen" experience on a laptop when I'm away from home. Do you guys think that graphics card (the NVIDIA GT 750M listed above) will be able to handle it?

Update: It sounds like there are more people who are having issues with hair/facial hair not appearing correctly. Hopefully a driver update or a game patch will fix this issue (and hopefully it isn't an issue on my new laptop!) ATM, all the players looks like they have mascara on (and long eyelashes on both top and bottom lids). Pau Gasol looks like he has wings made of hair jutting out of top of his head!

If you look at the post above you buy rockchalker, he tested the game on his laptop. It may be what you're looking for.

His laptop has a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 8GB of RAM, and 9600GT. Your CPU is better than his. As for the GPU they give and take in technical specifications but I don't know about performance.

From what I noticed Apple clocks their GPU's higher than Windows equivalent laptops. When they used the GT 650M they clocked it to GTX 660 speeds. That being said a 750M will probably be around the performance of a Desktop GTX 650. CPU will be good, same with storage and RAM. I don't know if you could run the game on max but it could be possible close to max.

my guess is that i can play this game on medium settings and maybe some low cause i can play shadow of mordor on lowest settings with 30-35 fps and thats what i think hopefully its true 4 more hours to go CMON HURRY UP i want to play 2k
