Any news about NBA 2K15 for PC?

Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

Let's not be naive, this game is very much affected by piracy and that is why little attention has been given to online and online modes. They never developed the security levels to avoid pirate copies going online, there are hundreds of online associations made entirely of pirates. This silently confirmed news that everything that was previously removed is going to be present suggests that they have fixed that leak.

Nice article, Jao. I think there really is widespread pessimism from this community. Not that being optimistic will make anything change but it never hurt anyone. Don't tell me, those pessimists are just being realistic. Because at this point in time, we can not say what is real and not about 2k15.

Let us just hope for the best and take what will be served.

JaoSming wrote:I dont believe 2K has made any statement saying piracy is the reason for the PC version's limitations, its speculation due to other companies openly stating it.

I don't remember them saying it openly either. Just to clarify, my previous post wasn't aimed directly at 2K, at least not all of it. They are certainly releasing half-featured games and not providing post-release support on the PC.
JaoSming wrote:I just checked the PS3 online menu, 44,320. You can say its because PC has been fucked year after year, you can say the PS3 number is inflated because of PS+, but this number has always been like this. Here is a post from 2K10, the first year of 2K PC with online enabled, and it mentioned ~500 people online viewtopic.php?f=122&t=69293#p1113491 I can't remember seeing that number go over 1,000, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

Again it sucks, again it may not be ethically right, but people are not playing on PC and of those people they are not playing online. The best we can says is "they could though!" But if you take the all time highest amount of people playing the digital PC version of 2K and compare it to Sunday morning PS3, and get 5% of that number.... if 2K can cut costs by killing PC server load by removing online features, it is understandable.

Obviously, a lot more people play this game on the consoles, no point arguing with the facts. I guess what I'm saying is they're not exactly doing anything to close the gap by removing features from the PC version (which, since 2K13, include arguably the most popular mode in the game), having unplayable online - from what I've heard, never play online myself - and not bothering to release patches. Knowing all that, console players don't have much of a reason to go play 2K on the PC instead, therefore the PC fanbase consists mostly of people who have no alternatives.

Honestly, the features that are missing from the PC version are ones I don't really care about. What really rubs me the wrong way though is when those missing online features directly screw up bits and pieces of the offline experience. There's no way to properly unlock the locked players in Blacktop, the SP payouts in My Career are absolutely pathetic, etc.

I'm willing to bet most of the people who choose the pc version either did it because they have a pc that can runit and either don't have a console or don't care about playing online, want to save money due to it being cheaper or in some cases mods like ubr influenced a purchase.

Spot on. That said, the VC payments in MyCAREER on the consoles aren't exactly generous, either.

Generally some of you guys try to defend 2k in some unacceptable way. It looks like this: dont like, dont buy, but please stop talk about bad things in 2k series+be happy no matter what. I follow the first two sentences, but the third one? Its ridiculous and in many examples it looks like good PR. I didnt buy 2k14 for pc because of updated schedule, but for f sake let me talk about bad things in this game, there is nothing bad in this. So if they release next gen for pc i will smile, if not i see no reason for this, it will be just another 2k13 but on the other way i understand there are many players which buying all games in series because of number next to NBA 2k and smiling even when game looks almost the same like previous one. I dont understand why some of you compare situation of 2k9 with 2k15. Just how? We were so happy about 2k9 not because its just another same lookin game after live 08, we were happy and so much excited because it was next gen for pc. Look at fifa situation right now, why pc players are so excited? because EA will release next gen, people get tired of old engine and they will not smile like Rubio want to if EA release another same Fifa with added 15 number after.

I hope Next Gen comes to PC, because I'm jumping the gun and building a new PC this year, because my measly intel HD 4000 won't cut it.

I know they're not. What I was getting at is that you get VC all over the game and can use it to upgrade your player if you wish. On the PC, the pitiful SP rewards is all you have to work with.

What I made out of it was that I cared for SPs earned as salary as much as I care for a stop sign at 3am. Which is true, it just doesn't matter. I can make more SPs in my first two games thatn I'll get over the year.

Yeah, it's the Steam logo, we already know it's coming for PC, but we don't know what's coming, that's the discussion. Nice found though, I'm not sure if they have included PC in their ads before.

I bet 2K15 will be download only for PC. Corp probably feels that they're spending too much money on box copies for such a small userbase.

Certainly an encouraging sign. Even if it is digital distribution only, that's fine by me; that's how I planned on getting it anyway.

This may be a silly question but why is a pre-order advertisement on a cardboard box?

It's a retail thing. It's called a Point-Of-Sale display.

That seems too good to be true - after all, the PC version is already available through Steam - and given the NBA license, there would likely be complications with that. But I guess we'll see.
