I replied to your other thread, I personally dont care too much for that court since the buildings and stuff are in the crowd...maybe I'll make it the all star court or something and remove the sunset effects.

Do you have textures you'd like me to import into those slots for testing? Because if I just HD what I have, it doesn't really do much of a change. But yes, we can change the resolution of those. You reminded me that 2k13's global file in 2k14 has the jersey reflections instead of the sleeved ones....I wanted to track down which part controlled that.

the jersey doesn't move. Unfortunately, I tried replacing sleeved uniforms with the retro uniform tops so we could have a tight static uniform with moving shorts, and it still crashes just like if we do it with RED MC.

Wait, 2k10 used higher res textures?

I guess 2k really did dumb down the games to make the "Next gen" version look more impressive compared to the 360/PS3 versions..

Yea ive played 2k9 quite a bit this year. animations are terrible but graphics blow 2k14 out of the water.

By the way is there any expected date? Will it be built with the same Reditor we already have for rosters... or a separate one?

This actually happened, because they added other stuff to the game, and DVDs, used by 360, aren't big enough, so they had to reduce sizes of some textures among other measures (like changing compression algos, etc.).

By the way is there any expected date? Will it be built with the same Reditor we already have for rosters... or a separate one?

IFF functionality will be integrated with the already existing RED MC. No ETA yet.

just like RED MC for rosters, pay for licenses to do stuff, but you can release the files and anyone can use them

JaoSming, don't worry man! that's my jersey. base on the logo texture and the warmups. btw! when would this drop? this is cray. and for the stress test result we or you should set an maximum resolution, so those who don't have a good rig can't handle the HD textures.

There is no real benefit going to the 8192x4096 resolution IMO, I think the 4096x2048 is good enough. We can do custom resolutions that are in between that too, it just has to be multiples of 4 or something, I forget, its a dds thing.

No. We still need to find where in the file that data is stored. It should be easy enough to locate now, so I'll try and give a look for it tonight.

I'm sure they would, but my time is limited as is, and I dont really want to try and figure out which 2K9 texture lines up with 2K14 textures to do that.

I think that is controlled in the stadium file, so I could try importing an electronic "items" part into a scrolling file and see if that changes. Added to the list.


Still trying to find time to figure out where that reflection model is in the global.

The same reason I prefer to play with photographic CFs in 2K11 over cartoonish CFs in 2K14, not to mention the gameplay.

Those damn sleeves were one of my biggest pet peeves this year. Ahhhhh.

Didn't use the tool to find it even....stumbled upon it searching "play" for players in my list thread.

Both are located right next to the player models in the file itself, exported from 2K13 (part 928), imported into 2K14, and DONE. The 2K14 file is bigger, because of the sleeves, so you could try doing a hex part replace and add the needed 00's after the 2K13 file to make it all the same size. I'll release this global file, with TP's lightened reflections, once the tool is released though. HELL YEA.

Great work Jao! Super excited to see what comes of these mods. This game plays overall better then Next gen, we just gotta HD it :)
