Hex Editing .ROS

Postby wilson27 on Mon Oct 07, 2013 12:00 am

I opened a .ROS file with hex editor. Unlike last year, 2k14's .ROS includes the "Bank of Names" and I tried to edit some data.

I made sure I followed Jao's tutorial regarding checksums but after saving the .ROS file and loading it in game, the file is corrupted.

Jao, can you give me some light here? Thanks.

It's not only Jao who can help me, remember that this is a community. It is much wiser and appropriate to post here in "Patching Help & Request" coz more people will be able to read my query and help me rather than "annoy" our moderators with a PM.

Sa susunod isip isip muna bago sabi sabi. (Y)

it is different from 2K12 and before. Same as 2K13
For those using the CRC32 program from years past, you want to use the top option in the drop down, the C++ Assembly, and again, just copy the checksum into the front of the file without reversing the bytes like we had to in years past.
Opinions are my own.

Another question, can we edit Player Type thru Hex? Any idea how to find it's address?

yes, it would be possible, but it is not like ratings and other information that is easy to find.
