Nice indeed, as the mods progress, we can see about integrating them.
I have a week off from school this week, so I am hoping to refine my blender skills from 2 years ago and attempt to make some new courts and get back into the swing of things. I think after making some new courts, and making some Homecourt style uniforms, I'll release Basic Street v1.2 on west44's roster (with rookies). I don't think I will have the T-shirts in though, since they look weird on away teams with the wrong accessory colors. I'll revisit that idea after the REDitor comes out.

So I have had some fun (tediously moving of each little model in these courts....FUN) and came up with this

Moar Screenshots Here
http://nba-live.com/jaosming/2K12/modtoolexperiments/If you played the basic street mod, you'd know that the sky for the day time court is completely black....well, I fixed that. It's a single color now, I could gradient it, but nothing too awesome.
I moved everything possible in the s604 model. Except for the bleachers, the building placement, and the ground. So the fence, those trees, and obviously the pedestrians cannot be moved, same with the court. the s611 (nighttime) court has similar issues, we cannot move the road, fence, and other things.
Just showing off what can be done for future street courts even though there are limitations, hopefully more coming this week!

lol what the hell haha nice man that is crazy

its nice, but I am running into issues.
First, the s611 (night court) is just like 2k10, when you start messing with where things are, the lights start going nuts and you cant see anything, and just like 2k10 the light texture that bugs out is not in the iff file. What's worse/awesome is the tree shading on s604, rucker day, I can't get rid of it (been hexing it up). So if I can't get rid of it, all the courts have to be daytime and have objects that mimic those shadows from the trees. And as seen in the screenshots, there are trees I cannot get rid of.

That's OK with me the fact that you can do half of the things your doing will be better than what has been offered through 2K
keep doing what you are doing I am sure it will still be fun either way

Cool idea.

Good News!
I fixed the "light" issue in the night court, the lights were shining through buildings and other objects I moved closer to the court. Even though I can't edit as much of the surroundings as I'd like, this will still provide more of a variety to any courts I make.
Bad News!
Since I tried this at the beginning of my only week off from school and it failed, I spent my freetime the past two days playing Minecraft and Saints Row......
So yes, things are back on track, and I will be hopefully making some cool street courts soon. But time is now a limiting factor again, so no guarantees when things will happen.
The current plan is to make 30 quick street courts for the Basic street mod. Mixing between indoors and outdoors. Very basic stuff, nothing fancy. Then after taking care of any rust, attempt recreating some of the venues from the charity games and summer leagues before the REDitor comes out.

This is sick! You are one of the few who understand idea of modding. Great work.
Is any chance to use venice beach court form 2k10 to 2k12 or you need to export from old file to 2k12 file?

Thanks man! I actually just realized that was the first "original" court I've made in nearly 5 years.....wow. I last made "new" courts for Street 07, but I did "update" those courts for Street 08.

With the people converting 2k11 headshapes to 2k12, my understanding is that they import the 2k11 headshape into 3D Max, delete the eyes, mouth, etc, then import the 2k12 headshape in, delete the head structure, then position the eyes and stuff before exporting. I think that only works because there are the same amount of vertices. With courts, we have stuff of different sizes and with Blender you cant rename the "scene" you are editing which is crucial. IF I were able to import the 3D stuff from Venice, I would still have to figure out how the textures would come over. I just dont know how I could do that. I might attempt it later in the year, but right now I'd rather spend time making quick courts than try to convert a single court from 2k10.

these are all looking sick

a cookie to whoever can figure out where the inspiration of these courts is coming from.

nice guess, but nope. I will definitely try some of those courts later though.
Yep, exams first. I did have some time trying to make a court yesterday, but it fell through. The textures 2K uses are killing some of my ideas.

Of course, but I think I'm going to wait on it until the season actually starts and do it on the opening night official roster. I still have lots of courts to make and I am current distracted with
something else.

yea what a little twat

Yep it was from Live 06, I usually listen to BBall Game Soundtracks when I mod.
So I finally updated NBA Street. Rookies, new uniforms, 3 new courts, an EBC Rucker, MP support. Good stuff. You may have noticed that I removed the planned mods for the recreation of the summer street games and the association generic game with NBA Stars. I will be updating this mod with the new roster updates, but I plan to move on to the HiU and APB mods once the REDitor comes out (which is soon). I will be returning to the Streets to do a full on mod with 30 courts and all that jazz, but I want to get my 3 big projects started for the year first.
Enjoy! And give feedback/comments -

The mod is awesome but I experienced a bit of a problem.

There is a big screen in the middle. I am using Broadcast Dynamic camera.
Can you also tell me how to use the practice jerseys in the game.
Thanks!
Sat Jan 07, 2012 2:27 am
go into camera options, and turn reverse view, or reverse camera, on, so the camera is behind the benches. Unfortunately that scoreboard is uneditable and on every single court. The only non-baseline camera that works by default is "Press".
I took out the practice jerseys in favor of the homecourt uniforms. the "practice" uniforms for drills will redirect to the new uniforms as well. When the REDitor comes out I plan on allowing you to choose between either the street unis or practice ones.
