Muscle Reduction Patch

Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:41 pm

Here's something I made about 3 weeks ago, but have finally decided to share with you guys.

Now, I think it's widely known now that the arms of players in NBA 2k11 are ridiculously toned and defined to the point where the players look like body builders that are always flexing (especially the ripped body type). It also made the fat players (zach randolph, glen davis, etc.) look like they had muscular arms when they shouldn't. In the NBA, this is simply not the case. While there are some players that are muscular and ripped (fisher, ben wallace, etc.), most NBA players are not.

My goal was to tone down both the definition of both muscle types, and trying to make them look less fake. Specifically, I used to regular body type as a base for the ripped body and added a few edits. As for the regular body type, I simply toned down the definition of the triceps and removed some veins. It isn't perfect by any means, but I feel it looks much better and accurate.

Instructions:
Open your global file in IFF Editor, and import the corresponding textures to their sequence number (364 for ripped, 441 for regular).

Hope you guys enjoy

Here are a couple screens:

D Rose

Fisher

As you can see with both Rose and Fisher, their ripped body types still look more toned than the regular body type (just not so over-the-top muscular like the default ripped body type is)

Glen Davis

The difference here is very subtle, but more accurate IMO.

I think it looks pretty good. But the ripped textures could use a little more definition. For now they look kinda flat.

hmm, I kinda see your point, but I think if I add more definition, it would look less accurate.
check out d rose here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0BXzb3J ... re=related (pictures are bad reference points for muscle definition since the players look like they're always flexing)
his arms are toned, but they aren't as defined as 2k11 originally had them look.
thanks for the input though, I do appreciate it!

That was a nice video. Haha..

Anyway, I'd like to point out the fingers too, I went to CAP to get a closer look and it looks a little weird.

great mod

welldone scj but are u able to get rid of that big lump around where the elbow join is looks kinda freaky in them pics

Gomher u really should get modtools or iffeditor.
so many mods require adding it into the global so much easier putting them in yourself than having to wait for someone to put it in a global.
Then u can pick an choose which mods u want to add.
Plenty of tutorials an posts explaining how to get it working

Sman21, thanks for your help, but this tools can´t work 100% and when i import files, the game can crash. But this time I tried it and it has worked perfectly, i prefer import files dds, 'cause the file complete changes other mods that i have.

Thanks guys. Thanks for this mod, the effect is great!
