AI back, didn't expect it honestly, thought more of a slight rebuilding process in terms of your role players. I mean it looks a bit like the runs of the Mavs IRL. Adding role players and resigning above averages old players (Terry, Haywood etc) just to get that ring, but it won't happen if you don't rebuild imho.

Well, I have no fiscal flexibility. I have way too many big contracts (i.e. Durant, David Lee, Andrew Bogut, Adam Morrison and others). I got 13 players on the roster so far. Iverson will come in handy if Tyson skips to Orlando or Phoenix. (Y)

Improve Your Player and All-NEW Player Influence

Improve Your Player

Every participant has a certain number of points that they will be able to use on improving attributes of their virtual player. You only have one chance to use all these points so don’t waste your points (i.e. any leftover points are not able to be brought forward to the next tipping competition).

For every Skill-based attribute, it costs you 4 points in order to improve that certain attribute by 1. For every Physical-based attribute, it costs you 8 points in order to improve that certain attribute.

Skill-based attributes are skills like shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, etc. Physical-based attributes includes attributes like strength, speed, endurance, as well as mental attributes such as awareness. If you are unsure whether the attribute you want to include is a skill-based or physical-based one, you are able to post and pose your question.

A quick example of how to let me know how you want to improve your player:

Player: 75 points
Three point shooting + 5 (20 points)
Mid range shooting + 4 (16 points)
Layup + 3 (12 points)
Stamina + 3 (24 points)
3 Points left over that cannot be spent

All-NEW Player Influence

Here is a brand new scheme that gives you more control over the fortunes of your virtual player.

Complain About Role On Team: 100 points
Demand Trade: 200 points
Demand Trade and Request Destination: 250 points

Points

You can accumulate points during any time of the season by participating in contests and also by posting articles that provide a different view of my story. These points may be cashed in: at the conclusion of the postseason, before the regular season begins and All-Star weekend.

Prospects can only use their points during the preseason/before the regular season.

Good luck!

Points

Playoff predictions, awards predictions and other points have all been accounted for. As you will see below, all those who participated in the ‘random’ contests or posting articles have the most points. You can still post articles if you wish!

That's right. Just read carefully how to spend your points. You won't get attributes if you calculate at the wrong cost for them!

Kidd Pushes Plans Retirement Back

SEATTLE, July 1 (AP) – Jason Kidd has made a surprise decision to continue playing on into his early 40s. The future Hall of Fame PG has pushed off retirement plans and signed a 4 year deal that will keep him with the Seattle Stealth until he retires.

The 40 year old’s deal will expire when he reaches the age of 45. It is doubtful that he will retire in 4 years time; he is expecting to get 2 more seasons before hanging up the jersey. “The four years is really security on the contract,” Kidd stated, “It really ends when I retire.”

The 11 time NBA All-Star averaged a solid 10.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 7.9 apg, 1.5 spg last season. He was instrumental in the Stealth’s championship push this year as he helped lead the team to the Western Conference Finals before succumbing to a separated shoulder. His numbers dipped in the postseason to 8.5 points and 4.7 rebounds a game but his assists per game rose to 9.7.

Kidd was in prime form before hurting his shoulder in Game 4 against the Kings. He had averaged 12 points, 8.5 rebounds, 10 assists in the second round against the Golden State Warriors. “My aim is to win a ring,” Kidd told reporters, “That is my main motivation. I’m so close to retiring with a championship. If it wasn’t for the injury, I think I would be celebrating and retiring right now.”

Stealth GM Will Sit was pleased that Kidd would be back for Seattle, “We needed him (Kidd) if we wanted to compete. We have a great team but Jason brings invaluable experience to the table. His poise and leadership are qualities that will help guide our young team.”

Wow, how did you do that? Edit his age so that he is back to 30 again? I mean, playing until 45? That's wicked. Good to see him back though, I've always been a big J-Kidd fan IRL and in your D.

I didn't edit his age. I'm just lucky the computer didn't retire him. :P Been keeping it secret this whole time. :)

I guess I been lucky the CPU been keeping some of the older players around longer. I mean, Shaq played till he was 41 which was a surprise. Perhaps we have been underestimating the Association AI! I have a feeling Kidd is staying longer due to the team being so good. I don't know.

But really wanted to keep this secret to surprise everyone!

Not to mention: This is a classic 'Sit-Twist'

Phoenix Frontrunners For Tyson’s Signature

PHOENIX, July 5 (AP) – The Phoenix Suns have emerged as the favourites to gain Reshawn Tyson’s services after the Orlando Magic withdrew their offer to him. Tyson is off-contract after four seasons with the Seattle Stealth and his former side are working hard to get him to sign with Seattle; even it means a trade is on the cards.

Sources state that the Stealth don’t want to lose Tyson for nothing and would be happy with a sign and trade deal to bring in depth and future draft picks. However, there is hope that Tyson will stay in Seattle for a championship run after news of the re-signing of Jason Kidd. However, the possibility of Tyson committing to a future with the Stealth is waning daily as reports claim that he has become disillusioned playing alongside 4-time scoring champion Kevin Durant and the removal of Head Coach Will Sit.

The Suns are offering Tyson a 5 year, 85 million dollar contract. The All-Star shooting guard was the number three pick of the 2009 NBA Draft and has enjoyed a successful career thus far in the NBA after reaching the Western Conference Finals in two consecutive years with Seattle.

Phoenix GM Charles Barkley is confident that Tyson will choose to play in Phoenix, “We have a lot to offer here in Phoenix.”

Chapter 22

“So how about that contract?” Jason Kidd asked Sit.
Sit was a little puzzled, “What’s up?”
Kidd repeated, “How about that contract?”
Sit was laughing by now, “This is a joke right? Is this you Jason?”
Kidd replied, “I’m coming down to meet with you now. Let’s talk business.”
Kidd hung up and Sit could not believe what had just happened. It was either a very good day or an unbelievable one. As it turned out; it was both.

Kidd looked a bit uneasy in the chair opposite Sit; he was a bit edgy because he didn’t know if this was the right decision.
“I think I’ve made up my mind.”
Sit sounded unsure, “Really? No more changes?”
“No more,” Kidd assured him, “I’m back for the long haul. Another season.”
“What about two?” Sit quizzed him.
“Depends on my body,” admitted Kidd.
“I think a four year deal so that we have security rather than signing one year at a time,” Sit stated.
Kidd thought it sounded good, “We put a clause in that it can be terminated at any time.”
“You’ve been talking with your agent?” Sit was impressed.
Kidd laughed, “No, I’m just looking out for myself and the club.”
Sit nodded, “It sounds good. We will have to get everyone together to discuss this formally but it’s the first step.”
“Man, I really wanted to walk away from the game but it’s bugging me that we could be champions,” Kidd said, “I want to go out with a ring. I want this really bad.”
“I guess I pretend to know what you mean,” Sit laughed.
Kidd told him, “If Reshawn leaves, we’re going to need a lot of help. I thought I might as well stick around and try and help the guys out.”
Sit was pleased that Kidd had returned on his own accord, “I always told you that you would be welcomed back.”
Kidd was grateful, “Thanks.”
Sit was then honest with him, “I think this puts us in a great position to bargain for Ty to stay here in Seattle. Thank you.”

Allen Iverson got the phone call from his agent. Everything was sweet to go ahead with the Stealth. He would sign that new three year deal. Iverson was told that he would get a press conference at his home in the coming hour. He didn’t have to do anything to get ready; he just needed to answer a few questions. Iverson checked his phone again. There was a text from Kidd that read Congratulations on the deal! I can’t wait to get back out onto the court! Iverson put his phone down and went around to the kitchen to grab a glass of cold water. One of the maids came in to look for him.
“Mr Iverson, they’re outside for you.”
Iverson put his empty glass down and made his way to the front door. He couldn’t believe it when he opened it. There was quite a number of reporters waiting there for him. He knew that they weren’t here only for him. They were here to hear about whether his deal meant the end of Reshawn Tyson’s tenure with the Seattle Stealth.
Iverson fronted the media and said, “I’m returning to Seattle for three seasons. I want to win a title. I want to start for the team as well.”
“Allen, are you confident that you can be a starter in Seattle?” one reporter asked.
Iverson replied, “Y’know, y’know, I’m always ready to play hard and work hard in practice and all that. I’m just being real now, I should be a starter for Seattle. It’s simple. That simple.”
“Any thoughts on Reshawn Tyson?”
“This interview is over y’all,” Iverson stated and slammed the door behind him.

* * *

Sit was walking to the Seattle Stealth training court where the press conference introducing Kidd, Iverson, Adam Morrison and his three draft picks would be held. Sit walked into the foyer and was greeted by a throng of reporters.
“Mr Sit, how are you feeling with the returns of Kidd and Iverson?”
Sit obliged to answer as he walked at the same time, “It’s great. I feel confident that with the same group of guys, we are going to be able to contend for the championship.”
“Mr Sit, there are sources that claim you have been in talks with James Dolan about a potential job with the New York Knicks. Any truth in that?”
Sit stopped and looked straight into the reporter’s eyes, “Those assertions sound utterly false to me. Maybe you should check to see if your source is credible.”
The reporter tried to argue but Sit started walking again.
“Mr Sit, will Allen Iverson be a starter?”
“That’s something for Coach Karl to decide.”
Sit reached the door to one of the offices. He turned to face the media. Camera phones were going off and voice recorders were shoved under his nose. Sit put both hands in the air to quieten everyone down.
“Any other questions can be addressed during the press conference,” he shouted, “Thank you!”
Sit turned and opened the door. He walked inside, door slamming behind him. He walked past the empty desks toward the windows facing the street. He pulled his phone out of his blazer pocket and dialled a number.
“May I speak to Mr James Dolan please,” Sit said.
Sit had to hold for a few minutes, “Hello Mr Dolan, how are you?”
“Mr Sit,” Dolan acknowledged him.
“I told you to keep this secret,” Sit stated calmly.
“You’ve taken a while to get back to me,” Dolan explained, “I thought I would speed up the process.”
“Well, if you switch on ESPN you will get to see me soon,” Sit boasted, “And oh, I don’t want to come to New York.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m staying here in Seattle.”
“You made a deal...”
“No I didn’t,” Sit cut in bluntly, “And I don’t want to work for you after that cheap tactic of going to the media.”
Dolan was angry, “You’re going to regret this!”
Sit yelled, “You can go screw yourself old man!”
Sit hung up and switched his phone off. He left the office and made his way to the training court where everyone would be waiting for him.

Sit sat next to Kidd. He looked down the long table. Iverson, Morrison and the three draft picks were all seated to his right. The media sat in front of them, there had to be twenty rows of them, about twenty seats in each row. It was impressive. Sit thought about the team he had built from the ground up. There was no way he could have left. He felt a bit embarrassed that he even thought of leaving. There was a seat on Sit’s left that was empty. He didn’t have any idea who was meant to sit there. One of the Public Relations staff was going across from player to player to make sure they were alright. She reached Sit.
“Did you need anything Mr Sit?” she asked.
“I’m fine,” Sit smiled, “One question – who’s sitting in this seat?”
Sit nodded to the empty seat and she looked a bit shocked.
“Oh no! I forgot the other seat.”
Sit was confused, “What?”
She laughed and said, “One of the board members will be here. And the new owner as well. They’re late.”

They will both have close to 20 year careers. Kidd was definitely better in the first half of his career & Nash is definitely been better in the second half of his career. If I had to take one or the other, I probably would take Kidd due to his first half of his career turning any team he's on into an immediate title contender.

Yeah... sure...

You wasted your guess.

Anyone else with a better one?

Grinch gets 50 points if he can guess so that he can take ratings off people. (Y)

Think about the various characters who don't like Sit...

I looked for fine prints but couldn't find any...so I'm gonna join in the guessing game.

How about.........ISIAH THOMAS

I know it's pretty bleak but that's the immediate wild guess I could come up with

I have a second guess but you won't count this i suppose, but could it be Reshawn Tyson's dad?

The only consolation is that I get to write that Jao Wu article I was planning because of such recent event. Shelved the idea for a while because I didn't know if Sit would even be back with the Stealth, which would make the article moot.

I have no idea but wild guess is Mark Cuban.

If you’re about realism in NBA games, but you lack the experience in this type of game mode, I’d suggest starting with a player like Kwame; it really does feel like an authentic experience straight off the bat.

Mark Cuban... no.

Looking forward to the Jao Wu article. I'm hoping you can create the Wu Bandwagon. :) Much like those guys who loved Darko.
