Boozer has never had microfracture surgery (see: Chris Weber, T-Mac, Penny, Kenyon Martin, Mr Oden) or has to wear protective eyewear for the rest of his career because he suffered a detached retina/ torn iris. Between Boozer and Amar'e, it's Amar'e that has more recently had a season ending injury

as hollinger said- Amar'e has more upside but Boozer is less risky and his contract is one of the best value plays in this year's market

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

KCJHoop

This is already in this story. But Boozer's deal is closer to $75-76 million and preserves max salary slot.

I'm inclined to believe X was taking the piss. ;) Rose is overrated by the press and coaches because he was named to the all-star team and won rookie of the year, quite undeservedly. He's not my favorite player by any means, but I don't dislike him persay. I wouldn't mind him on the Blazers (as long as he wouldn't cost Roy, Oden or Batum), but I disagree with most of the accolades.

I Actually would take Lee over Boozer, then again though,Booz is a much better fit for Chi-town.
They already have great rebounding in Noah,Boozer is a perfect scorer, wonder if Rose will still be the 1st option.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

lol why wouldn't a young, athletic player w/actual basketball skill & smarts be overrated

but i agree that Derrick Rose doesn't come off as book smart and media savvy

I'd probably have taken Lee first as well, but he definitely seems hell-bent on New Jersey or Minnesota. As for Rose being the first option, I wouldn't think so. You have to let the 20-10 guy do what he does. I think this will help Rose become a much better offensive player, though.

As far as the signing goes, I'm a fan of it. Going to wait until tomorrow to really make a decision on it, just to see where that other guy winds up.

"Quite undeservedly"? Come on, you're saying he didn't deserve either of those honours in any way, shape or form?

it's a good question on who's the 1st option... but not only will Rose- the rest of the players should become better players. Boozer's post scoring/passing ability should open things up for everyone- esp. Deng if he is still on the team

who cares? Rose's overrated-ness had to be a big draw for Boozer to sign for 5yrs/75mil

I guess. I was just defending him, like I said there seems to be a habit of accentuating the negative with him.

As with anyone, really. e.g. Tim Duncan is boring, LeBron James got dunked on that time.

As far as the next step goes, if the Bulls don't get LeBron, then I think they need to make a big push for Ray Allen.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:25 am

True.

I'm all for pursuing Ray Allen, LeBron or no LeBron, though I reckon he'll remain with the Celtics. I also like AG's previous suggestion of bringing in Ronnie Brewer though he admittedly doesn't address the need of a three point threat.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:27 am

Forget Allen:
Allen and Celts have agreed on two-year deal worth $10 million annually that includes player option in Year 2.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:28 am

There you go. On to the next option.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:30 am

Mike Miller
Anthony Morrow (restricted fa though)
Kyle Korver

and/or start exploring trading options. how about Ben Gordon

ideally as stated before- they do need some kind of perimeter defender to come off the bench. Brewer would be nice. even Raja Bell

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:45 am

I'm guessing the Warriors would match any offer the Bulls were likely to throw at Morrow, though he'd be a nice pickup. I like the sound of Miller, Korver would be alright too. And I still agree with the suggestion of Brewer, Bell too but apparently there's mutual interest with the Lakers so he might be out.

J.J. Redick?

What about taking on Vince Carter?

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 11:51 am

Redick, sure. Wouldn't be surprised if he accepts the qualifying offer from Orlando though.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Boozer is a great signing I think. As injury prone as he is, I think he'll be as good (if not better) for the Bulls as Amar'e will be for the Knicks.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 1:19 pm

Shut the fuck up Diddy. You can do that by sucking on Wade's cock some more.

If LeBron doesn't sign with Chicago, the Bulls will regret the decision of not having any visual aids during their presentation and daring James to be even greater than Jordan. It's like calling him out 'chicken'. :shake:

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

in all of this free agent talk two guys are being undervalued.... Taj Gibson and James Johnson.

Current Lineup (if bulls cancel hinrich trade and pick up
Noah
boozer/Gibson
Deng/Johnson
Hinrich/johnson
Rose

plus maybe bring back guys like law, murray, and pargo.

a few guys i could see the bulls going after could be
jermaine O'Neal
Shaq
JOSH HOWARD!!!!!
Korver
Anthony Morrow
Cartier Martin (Average Nba player, currently in nbdl)
Stephen Graham (only because we share birthdays, ahem)
and then there are guys like tmac and finley around

We'll def need these guys now our primary scoring options are low post (Boozer) and penetration (Rose), the lane's gonna be so clogged if Pax doesn't sign any shooters. Hopefully he'll do the right thing

too bad Ray Ray's taken already :shake:

They're not free agents, so there's no concern about getting them onto the roster this season. They're back unless they traded or cut.

Re: Chicago Bulls Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 5:18 pm

As the situation goes now,the Bulls need a great SG and the things are tough on the FA Market ,Goerdon would be an ideal signing, involving a trade that will be helpfull for the Bulls, maybe give Deng as i stated some days before for this option.

RIP Hamilton is Free Agent ? I just saw it on the net and he seems a good option for the SG if we can't land BG with any way.

No, he's not a free agent until 2013 when his career more or less ends.

Here's hoping Lebron will choose Chicago later on today. (Y)

Getting nervous since I really want him to go to the Bulls, but I'm happy that this whole thing will finally be done with.
