In a deal that could quite possibly go down as one of the biggest moves in franchise history, the Raptors acquired Rockets guard Kevin Martin, a 2011 first round pick and forward Shane Battier in a trade, all while getting far enough under the cap to possibly sign a free agent in July.
In return, the Raptors sent All-Star starting forward Chris Bosh to Houston. With Bosh heading to Houston, the future looks bleak for the franchise. General Manager and President of Basketball Operations John Doe was asked for comment about the trade and said that, "I had a feeling Bosh would not stay with Toronto so rather than lose him for nothing next season, we opted to get the most we can for him."
Doe said that the move would give more playing time for youngsters DeMar DeRozan and Wesley Johnson. But head coach Jay Triano has tough task ahead of him, with Toronto having a log jam at the shooting guard postion. DeRozan, Johnson, Belinelli and Martin are all listed as a 2. The addition of the veteran Battier could help hone the raw talent inside of these young players.
Bosh is currently averaging 22.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game this season. He appeared in all 32 games for the Raptors and has yet to miss a game this season.
Notes: I didn't put any cuts to player after shots, etc cause it was hard to do it in reelmaker. Sorry for the quality, I did my best. Please watch this, tell me your thoughts. Hope you like it!!
