Hmm, I can't figure the bolded bit out, typo?
Thanks for posting the mistake. Laughed at myself. I'm not sure if my team will make conference finals again but I do think we can make the second round.
Glad you enjoyed the read. More updates coming up too!
You're welcome.
Looking forward to them.

anyhow, if you keep this home streak up, you'll keep your spot in the playoff standings without a sweat

I think you should look to avoid not only Portland, but Denver as well. A good month could get you the fourth seed and homecourt against the Hornets or Warriors. GOOOOOOO STEALTHHHHHH!!!!!!
Lightning Strike wrote:Awesome March recap, I see that the Cavaliers have a great record so far but Lebron James isn't one of the top 5 PPG scorers, I find that strange.I just realized too how easy it would be for a slip-up in April to cause you to drop to 8th against Portland, I thought there'd be a little more space but it's really tight! Good luck Sit, looking forward to the other 4 recaps for March.

Thanks man. They are time consuming to write up.
And a drop may happen... considering another of my starters does get injured in April... not good I tell you...

Well, all that effort you put into them really pays off in my opinion, you do an amazing job with your write-ups mate, they really are a joy to read.

Race 2 MVP
1. SF L James, Cleveland (24.4 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 7.6 apg) – The Cavs have the second best record in the East, and third best in the League. LeBron James has been brilliant all season long, at times flirting with averaging a triple double. There seems to be no disputing that he will win MVP.
2. SG D Wade, Miami (29.1 ppg, 4,6 rpg, 6.8 apg) – Wade’s all-around game is as impressive as James’ but the Heat SG has Michael Beasley as a capable wingman. Miami is the best team in the East and also second best team in the League but Wade loses out to James because of a better supporting cast.
3. PG C Paul, New Orleans (22.9 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 10.5 apg) – Paul has been the best PG in the World for so long but he has been unlucky in the sense that New Orleans has not surrounded him with talent to get this team to the next level.
4. SG B Roy, Portland (19.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.9 apg) – Brandon Roy is the best player on the best team in the NBA however he has the support of All-Star talents such as Carlos Boozer, Steve Nash, and the rising Greg Oden. He gets a mention here because of how brilliant Portland has been and how they look like prime championship candidates.
5. SF K Durant, Seattle (30.5 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.0 apg) – The NBA’s leading scorer would have looked like an afterthought but his form on the offensive end along with Seattle on a tear helps Durant break into the top 5 of this list for the first time this season.

Rookie Rankings
1. PF J Gray, Milwaukee (19.6 ppg, 13.1 rpg, 5.0 apg) – With the trading away of Andrew Bogut, Jay Gray has stepped into the shoes of team ‘superstar’ very fondly. Selected to play in the NBA All-Star Game, Gray looks like a legend in the making. A playoff spot for next season does not look too far-fetched now.
2. PG R Lliach, LA Clippers (14.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 7.2 apg) – Former UConn star is enjoying instant success with Amare Stoudamire and the LA Clippers. The Clippers have never looked so good since they made the playoffs in 2006. Lliach has looked like a season pro, leading this young outfit towards the postseason.
3. C DJ Schmidt, New Jersey (10.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 2.6 apg) – Although some may argue that Jeremy Mason is the better individual player, no one can argue with Schmidt having a bigger impact on both ends of the court. The young big man is improving quickly and could average a double double next season.
4. PG L Nixon, Golden State (11.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 6.1 apg) – Louis Nixon has become a fan favorite in Golden State and also a frontrunner for Sixth Man of the Year honors. An interesting fact: Nixon called former Warriors PG Gilbert Arenas to ask for advice on playing in the league. It looks like Agent 0’s advice worked.
5. PF L Chase, Phoenix (8.6 ppg, 7,4 rpg, 0.3 apg) – Leo Chase gives Suns fans an exciting and athletic frontcourt player to cheer on. It’s unsure whether Chase will ever get a hold of the fundamentals of basketball but it is undeniable that his leaping ability and open personality hold much value for fans.

Utah Jazz Hire Sam Mitchell
After a disastrous season, the Utah Jazz finally fired head coach Derek Ryan and replaced him with former Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell. Mitchell led the Raptors to the playoffs over two consecutive seasons in 2006-07 and 2007-08. Longtime Jazz coach Jerry Sloan was happy with the appointment, “I think that Sam is a great choice to lead Deron (Williams) and Joe (Johnson). The success he also had with Chris Bosh could really appeal to Donnell Lawrence.”

Kansas-Texas Final Four Game: Most Anticipated For 2011
Kansas and Texas Tech are preparing for a clash of the titans as both teams continue their stellar seasons, being led by their two stars. Kansas PF Aaron Flores and Texas Tech SG Larry Williams will take to the court in two days to battle for a spot in the NCAA Final.
The 24 year old Williams exploded onto the scene this year by upping his scoring average from 12.3 to 19.5. The 6’4” G has always been a double digit scorer but has never averaged more than the 13.8 he averaged in his freshman year. Williams has been described by scouts as having ‘a tremendous touch from outside, outstanding playmaking ability, and a lock-down perimeter defensive game’. Williams is looking like a lock to be selected in the top 5 of next year’s NBA Draft.
20 year old Flores also looks set to make a jump to the NBA after a very impressive season with Kansas. Although he lacks any true strength, he plays with a lot of heart and might not be able to replicate the success of this season. Flores ranks high on many scouting radars after averaging 15.6 ppg, 10.3 rpg for Kansas. An average rebounder and scorer, Flores relies on his size and quickness in the college ranks and some have pointed out their concern for his successful transition to the pro game.
