
Brandon Roy scored 36 points and dished out 7 assists to lead the Blazers to a 124-117 home victory against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, spoiling Marcus Camby's Bulls Debut.
Camby, who was acquired from the LA Clippers for forward Luol Deng the previous night, was not impressive in his debut, only getting 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 20 minutes of play, throughout the game he seemed fatigued and at times had to signal to Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro that he wants to take a break.
"He's just tired tonight, and he's not used to the team yet, we only had one shootaround together, not even a full practice yet, he'll be ok." said Del Negro
Portland had been trailing the whole first half when, during the third quarter, they went on fire and completely dominated the quarter, led by Roy, they scored 42 points in the quarter and held the Bulls to just 20 points. The Bulls attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, but fell short. Webster and Aldridge was also big for the Blazers, with the former one scoring 24 points, and the latter getting a double double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, as well as 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. Greg Oden started hot, and played well defensively, blocking 3 shots in the first quarter, however, he was held down by the Bulls since, and ended the game with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
The Bulls were led by Lamar Odom, who is coming off a triple double performance against the LA Lakers the previous night, and he was 3 rebounds and 4 assists shy of another one, with a game high 37 points, as well as 7 rebounds and 6 assists in just 24 minutes of play, he went 14 of 22 from the field, 2 of 3 from 3 point land, and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. Another Chicago Bull that stood out was Sean Williams, who had 3 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 1 block in 19 minutes coming off the bench, however, he had just hit 1 out of 6 attempts from the field.
South Korean Native Ha Seung-Jin played 4 minutes in tonights game, and scored 4 points and grabbed 1 rebound in that period of time, Korean fans in the Portland crowd gave him a standing ovation when he checked in late in the 3rd quarter, and he responded quickly with a bucket right in the face of Greg Oden.
The Bulls are now 7-5 with this loss, while the Blazers climb up to 5-7.
