Roy, Blazers Spoil Camby's Bulls Debut
Image

Brandon Roy scored 36 points and dished out 7 assists to lead the Blazers to a 124-117 home victory against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, spoiling Marcus Camby's Bulls Debut.

Camby, who was acquired from the LA Clippers for forward Luol Deng the previous night, was not impressive in his debut, only getting 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in 20 minutes of play, throughout the game he seemed fatigued and at times had to signal to Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro that he wants to take a break.
"He's just tired tonight, and he's not used to the team yet, we only had one shootaround together, not even a full practice yet, he'll be ok." said Del Negro

Portland had been trailing the whole first half when, during the third quarter, they went on fire and completely dominated the quarter, led by Roy, they scored 42 points in the quarter and held the Bulls to just 20 points. The Bulls attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, but fell short. Webster and Aldridge was also big for the Blazers, with the former one scoring 24 points, and the latter getting a double double with 21 points and 11 rebounds, as well as 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. Greg Oden started hot, and played well defensively, blocking 3 shots in the first quarter, however, he was held down by the Bulls since, and ended the game with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

The Bulls were led by Lamar Odom, who is coming off a triple double performance against the LA Lakers the previous night, and he was 3 rebounds and 4 assists shy of another one, with a game high 37 points, as well as 7 rebounds and 6 assists in just 24 minutes of play, he went 14 of 22 from the field, 2 of 3 from 3 point land, and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. Another Chicago Bull that stood out was Sean Williams, who had 3 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 1 block in 19 minutes coming off the bench, however, he had just hit 1 out of 6 attempts from the field.

South Korean Native Ha Seung-Jin played 4 minutes in tonights game, and scored 4 points and grabbed 1 rebound in that period of time, Korean fans in the Portland crowd gave him a standing ovation when he checked in late in the 3rd quarter, and he responded quickly with a bucket right in the face of Greg Oden.

The Bulls are now 7-5 with this loss, while the Blazers climb up to 5-7.

Tough loss against the Blazers. But Odom is really da man in Chi-town. Seems like he has been underrated his whole career ;)

Nice trade to get Camby. But hes not your Luc Longley right? Hes better ^^ but your doing a good job of getting the trade carrousel spinning.

Lol at your defensive rating being 81, eventhough you allowed more than 100 points in every regular season game so far :P
Im really loving that trade for Odom, this year is his breakthrough year :P
But I don't like so much the Camby trade. I think Deng is more valuable than Camby, and he also had a bad debut. Just 3 rebounds in 20 minutes is embarrasing for a player like Camby xD.
How did Deng do in his Clipper debut?

hova-, yup, he is da man for me :)
na, Camby isnt my luc longley, he's just there to fill the gap...deng's contract is too horrible to keep around, camby is cheaper and goes for shorter time..

StupidBoy, thats cause the player (me) sucks at defense lol, i did hold Memphis to 60 something points earlier on in the season (all the scores would be posted in the November recap), Deng hasn't played yet for the clippers, but as for Camby..i donno, i find it hard to get blocks and rebound with him, like his response time is too slow, if you get what i mean :( hopefully he'll be better as the season progresses.
Odom has been a beast so far...2 triple doubles and we're only 12 games into the season :D

IMO you should put more work into this, adjust the pictures, I think they are too big.

Other than that, the screens are nice, and you have a nice line-up

Please bring MJ back :D

well, reason why i put the pics so big is cause the quality goes down if they are too small, but alright, i'll use my old scale for the pics

na, MJ's too old, and he's the owner of the Bobcats :)

Small Update for y'all
Deng, in his first game as a Clipper, had 19 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks, shot 5-9 FG, 9-10 FT in 36 minutes of play....i got ripped in that trade it seems  why has he never played like that for me? lol

haha i wish, he might not even be an all star starter (his opponent is Lebron James after all... )
but i think he'll be able to get the MIP award :) he has just established new career highs in points (45) and assists (15) in this past month :P

What's bugging me right now is Ben Gordon...he has been struggling in shooting as of late, and i am starting to wonder if i should resign him after the season is over, i have a replacement if i don't in Rudy Fernandez (he has been great in the last few games)

Thanks guys, yeah it took me a long time, thats why i didnt write a R2MVP or Rookie Rankings lol...just the power rankings took me an hour :)
but the first one always takes so long, now i have the base there next time it would be faster.

for the voting, it seems like Boston is a lock already, now it's a three way tie between Detroit, Atlanta, or home against Orlando, i'll give it one more day, if all else fails, i'll just use a randomize program to decide
thanks for voting :P

Spurs, Timberwolves complete deal, trades Mason for Foye
December 6th 2008

ImageImage
The San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves have announced that they have compeleted a deal that would send Randy Foye to San Antonio in exchange for sharpshooter Roger Mason.
Foye has been on the block for quite a while now and although he does not like it, he still has to accept it, he is not a member of the T'Wolves anymore, and instead, will fight for minutes with Spurs Star Tony Parker, very unlikely that he would win in that situation. Meanwhile, the T'Wolves gain a sharpshooter that they could bring off the bench behind Mike Miller.

Arenas ties 3 Point Record in win over Bulls
December 6th 2008

in a 127-126 win over the Chicago Bulls in the United Center earlier today, Washington star Gilbert Arenas has tied Kobe Bryant's NBA record for most 3 pointers made in a game with 12, he shot 16 for 41 from the field, 12 for 28 from 3, and ended up with 45 points and 13 assists, one of his 12 three-pointers includes the game winning shot with 1.6 seconds remaining that snapped the Bulls' 7 game winning streak

Odom, Bulls in contract extension talk?
December 9th 2008

Sources close to the Bulls have stated that forward Lamar Odom, whom the Bulls acquired from the LA Lakers in the off season and is playing some of his best basketball in his career as of late, is now in talk with the Bulls with
regards to a contract extension.
The Bulls have not confirmed that they are indeed having such talks but the management has released a statement saying that they would love to keep Odom in the Windy City.
Odom is leading the Bulls in 4 of the 5 major statistical categories and is leading the league in Assists and Efficiency.

Odom agrees to extension offer from Chicago
December 10th 2008

Image
Just one day after rumors have leaked out with regards to a possible contract extension for Lamar Odom of the Chicago Bulls, the Bulls have announced that they have just signed Odom to a 5 year extension with a player option on the 6th year, per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is estimate to be around 85 million dollars.

This extension just ensured Lamar's place on the Bulls team for a very long time, and going by the way he has been playing for the last month, he has truly earned that contract and most likely won't even be considered to be traded away, and will stay as a Bull until he retires. (he would be 35 after his contract is up)

"We were happy to be able to agree upon this long term extension with Lamar, he is an important member of the team, and of this franchise, and we hope that he will continue to lead the team with his excellence on and off the court" said Bulls assistant GM Scottie Pippen

The very first game after Bulls forward Lamar Odom signed his new contract, he celebrated his new found 85 million dollars by posting career highs in points and assists in the Bulls road game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Odom was on fire all night, and in 33 minutes of play, he had a career high 55 points (previous was 45, set earlier this season), and 16 assists (previous was 15, set earlier this season), as well as 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal, hitting 25 of 32 from the field, including 2 for 3 from three point land, as well as a not so impressive 3 for 8 performance from the charity stripe to lead the Bulls to a 50 point blowout victory on the worse offensive and defensive team in the NBA.

The Chicago Bulls are now 16-6
