The RAM shouldn't matter here, it wouldn't restart his PC just because there's not enough of it (and he would have the same problem with other games).
Do you overclock in any way?

If the RAM really that faulty, he'll probably have some issues before he even tries to launch a game. And again, he would have much more issues with a texture-intensive game like Crysis, yet it doesn't seem to occur with it, just with 2K9.
But I guess you can certainly download and run memtest just to make sure Cindicate.

Are you playing on Ultra high setting? cause if you do then it's may be your PSU is not supplying enough power to your GPU note that on Ultra high setting the high texture squeeze as much as they can from your GPU in order to reach that much high level of details which consume more watts from the power supplier so if your PSU cannot meet your GPU hunger for watts your PC will restart by itself I faced this problem before and after upgrading to a higher PSU the problem ended completly (Thank God).

it just happen sometimes like 1/10

i don't overclock.

hmm, i wonder if its my RAM that cause the problem, i just bought these parts last september this year (brand new).

my settings are all low except for player detail = high and texture detail = mid, AA = low..

i'm trying to do this
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = -1 ---> 2
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = -1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = -1

maybe it'll work.
