Talk about NBA 2K9 here, as well as all previous games in the NBA 2K series.

Defense not collapsing on ball handler.

There are so many shots near the baseket becuase the defense don't collapse. I drive to the hoop and other defenders just stick to their own guys. When CPU drives to the hoop not of my defender collapes to help either. It's almost impossible to find a open player because everyone just sticks to their men! Even when you drive, your defender sticks to you like glue that you have no choice but to drive to the hoop..you can't even get a mid shot off or get anyone open for a mid shoot!

Check out dual player control. Make use of the 'quick pick and roll' and 'come off screen' and 'get open' plays to create shots for your teammates. Use triple threat fakes to get your defender to back off giving you room for a jumpshot, ot drive out of the triple threat an you can pull up a midrange jumpshot or dish it off to a teammate when the help defense comes. Dominate the paint with you post players and wait for the cpu to double team you so you can kick it out for the open perimeter shots.

You can also turn up help defense strength in the sliders or with the in-game strategy sliders.
