NBA Live 09 Dynasty Plans

Postby Andrew on Thu Oct 30, 2008 11:11 pm

I'm quite keen to get a Dynasty started in NBA Live 09 on the Xbox 360. I'll be giving 12 minute quarters a shot and playing as many games as possible, though I might have to resort to simming some. As usual, I'll be taking control of the Bulls and while I'd like to avoid too much wheeling and dealing and keep a decent amount of players who actually do play for the Bulls, I'll probably end up making a couple of deals.

I'll be fielding offers for Larry Hughes on the trading block as I envision a guard rotation with Gordon and Rose as the starters and Hinrich and Thabo coming off the bench. I've tried out a sample Dynasty and it looks like there might be some interesting offers, otherwise I'll try to be creative myself. Being an Australian I'm considering trying to get Andrew Bogut though it will be a little difficult with the personnel I have (and want to keep) and the salaries.

I'm not sure which direction I'll set, being that it is a video game I'll be aiming to win it all but taking into account the minimum goals that are set, I think I might aim for the mid-level of grow, improve and compete (mainly as I don't think I can get MVP but can probably get ROY with Rose).

Finally, I think I'll wait until the first few proper NBA Live 365 updates before I start the Dynasty to see what kind of detail they add and get a few more missing players added.

Have you ever thought about getting rid of nocioni and gooden for a better rebounder? I think the bulls need more rebounding. Maybe make a 3 for 2 deal for bogut and villanowava?

I guess that's a possibility but I'm not in too much of a hurry to trade them, though it might be what it takes to get Bogut.

I like the idea of starting Rose & Gordon together....Deng at SF....PF you could probably do Tyrus Thomas for some athleticism....as for C, yep, you could make a trade for Bogut....I'm thinking Bucks badly need a starting PG, trade him in any deal....don't include Hughes, Bucks don't want or need him....you'll probably need to match up salaries, give them a good young player, maybe a 1st Round draft pick to boot, & maybe take back someone to fill a backup need....good luck (Y)

That's what I was thinking, Thomas at power forward with Bogut at centre if I can get him. Hughes' contract pretty much excludes him from a trade with the Bucks anyway so I'll have to explore other ways to get rid of him.
