Now that we've had some time to sample all of the different free throw methods throughout the history of the NBA Live series, which is your favourite? The T-Meter, Right Stick method or the new hold and release method used in NBA Live 09 on the Xbox 360/Playstation 3?
Call me old fashioned but I'd still have to give it to the T-Meter, as it appeared in NBA Live 2004-06 as my favourite form of shooting free throws. The new method of holding the shoot button and releasing it when the meter reaches the green strip has probably become my second favourite, simple but not too easy as it's possible to become careless and poor free throw shooters still have a smaller margin for error. The only reason I'd place it behind the T-Meter is that the T-Meter offered precise aim so it was also very useful if you wanted to miss on purpose and go for the offensive rebound.
I know a lot of people expressed a liking for the right stick method the last time we did this poll but I wasn't a huge fan so I'm glad they revamped it. I like the theory behind it with the stick movements representing the shooting form and follow through but I found it too sensitive, often pushing the stick too far left and it didn't allow for controlled misses.

I loved the T. You actually had control of making the freethrow and missing it when you wanted to (the right stick, sometimes you made it anyway). I don't have next-gen, so I haven't tried the hold the button.

Exactly.
The hold and release method is good, a bit of a throwback to old gameplay mechanics which I'm sure some people won't like because it isn't "next gen" but I like the simplicity of it. The problem with Live's right stick method is the down-up motion; if it was just hold back and release as it is in 2K it wouldn't be so bad but it's too easy to move the stick slightly too far left or right in Live's method.
