need help with rebounds in ps3 version

Postby asaflir on Sat Oct 25, 2008 11:51 am

I just got the NBA LIVE 09 PS3 game last week, started my dynasty with the Knicks and after I noticed the default sliders sucks, i used the ones I saw here in the forum (of playmakers i think).

The sliders really improved the stats, except on thing: the rebounds. I play 10 mins per quarter (the sliders are 70 for def rebs and 30 for off rebs for USER and PC as well), but no matter what I do, the opponent always get more rebs than me.

first of all there ia a problem with the timing in the PS3 version, when you press the jump button, it takes the play something like second to response which annoys me.

Anyway, for example I played against the bucks and villanueva got almost every rebound against zack randolph (I tried everything - box out, jump...).

I made some trades so my big guys with the knicks are: randolph and david lee as starters and bargnani and milicic from the bench. if i finish a game with 6 rebs it's a good situation...my leading rpg after 11 games in the season is david lee with 5.9, randolph has 5.6.

PLEASE HELP ME. Do I need to change something in the sliders? is EA working on a patch to resolve the slow response bug?

thanks in advance

The CPU rebounds pretty aggressively so you might want to up the User Rebounding sliders a little if you're having difficulty. The other thing I'd suggest is the Rebounding drills in the NBA Academy, especially the free practice (though the skills challenges are good too) option. It gives you a good idea of how to effectively box out and position yourself as well as the timing to jump for the rebound.

how do u play with the sliders? what's your rebs sliders and for how many mins per qtr?

I know the academy drills, i used them but that's not the problem. the problem is the slow reaction, you can try to jump to rebound, but when your player already jump, your opponent already grabed the reb and go for the dunk...

I haven't settled on sliders that I like yet but if you've got yours at 70 and 30, you might want to up them by 20 apiece. As far as the slower reactions are concerned, that's why I mentioned the Academy as you can use it to get a feel for the responsiveness of the controls to get the timing down and the best way to box out opponents.
