Remember this game and how tough the Pistons played the Lakers just recently in LA, the season series is a split.

They may meet again in June, I believe Detroit is a good match-up with the Lakers, no really I do, with Wallace, Campbell, Okur and Williamson up front and whatever help Hamilton, Prince, Sura can give the terrific point guard Chauncey Billups who averaged 26.5ppg 3.5reb 6.5ast in the two games.

Shaquille was in foul trouble in the mentioned loss by the Lakers, posting averages of 20.5ppg 12.5reb 6.5ast in the two games.

I just have a feeling these teams will meet again in the playoffs.

Could be a little early for this prediction, also I'd rather see Boston, and San Antonio will have something to say about all this.

heheh, last season Billups scored 33 on Lakers, Ben Wallace had a great game as did Williamson and Okur......it seems as this has been repeated and Pistons won
Lakers seem to have trouble guarding some PG's i.e Billups and B Davis

vs. Lakers
Chauncey Billups 24 & 29
Baron Davis 23
Stephon Marbury 26

Payton didn't do too bad really, other games have not really had any scoring point guards. (i.e. TJ Ford, Milt Palicio, Jason Williams, Dwayne Wade, Jason Hart and Speedy Claxton)

Still much better defense than most teams and better than Derek Fisher.

Although of the three losses, two have been to New Orleans and Detroit.

To bad they lost  ....they gave Detroit way to many second or even third chances. Ben Wallace played great in the rebounding and offense with some nice fall-away shots and rebounds followed by baskets. What I really noticed with Derek Fisher, is that he always stops for a jumpshot in a 2-1 break......why the hell shoot while you can make a layup?....those shots selections are really killing me. Also LA has to work to get over the screens, cause I saw so many times that Big Ben gave the guards a pick and a open shots. Imo those were the things that were killing LA

kudos to the pistons. i switched over to the game after realizing the bulls were going to continue their sleepwalking against phx... as i mentioined before, billups is the marbury of the east. too bad these teams are done facing each other during the regular season. it would have been a treat to see these teams play later in the season when both teams are in full stride. i think laimbeer is still on cloud 9

Unfortunately these teams do not meet again in the regular season. :?

Listened to the game on the radio with Rick Mahorn doing color commentary. Quite humorous how much time Mahorn spent making sure the listeners knew that he hated Karl Malone with a passion.
