Looks like 08 with new animations. I want to see some videos that are not set on Rookie difficulty. Does anybody playing this game actually like to play basketball or do they just like to score?

What I saw was no D, a 360 spinning jump shot, and a guy receive a pass, take two steps without dribbling (no traveling call) then hit a 3.

EA did that so that we can be more excited to grab 09 but unfortunately they failed!

as i read these comments i realize that you guys know that nba live is trash. Why are you still buying this game when there is a better basketball game. get NBA 2k9 or atleast rent it and you will see the difference in game play and how it is much harder to score

live is fun all the time 2k can get boring sometime no post moves,shot stick hard to master, the cheesers online keep quiting

A thing that worries me is that in every new video I see more and more animations that look unrealistic or rather robotic; I see some animations that are faster than the others as example...and did you see that ugly shot block?! and look how the player moves when doing a shot fake...that are some things that annoy me.

well... atleast the game looks nice. Animations are still kinda unrealistic although smooth. The whole game looks smooth. I like live cuz its just fun and high scoring and visually impressive (texture, faces etc.) And im gonna buy live 09. But 2k8 was the best basketball sim and and 2k9 will still be it. If they've improved the graphics its going to be absolutely great. Im getting both this year (just like last year) and im sure this is the right choice just like it was w/ 2k8 and live 08. Cant wait 4 tha demos

I can't speak for every scenario or animation but there are some really great blocking animations in the game this year as well. Swats are still in the game but there's a nice array of soft blocks and "fingertip on the ball" kind of rejections as well.

I agree, 2k series has better player movement.
But oh well, i would buy live anyways(DNA feature).
