NBA Live 2010?

Wed Jul 30, 2008 11:44 am

Looks like Madden and Live will be back next year on the PC after this year's hiatus. Seems there are going to be drastic changes in how they are delivered to this platform.

Ya I read that as well, the 2010 LIVE and MADDEN will probably be next-gen meaning that it will resemble the PS3 and XBOX360 game. Good news, hope they actually take the year to fully convert it to next-gen but for now we will have to depend on NBA LIVE PC version...

It's certainly the most promising thing we've heard since the announcement about NBA Live 09.

Wed Jul 30, 2008 5:23 pm

too bad we have to wait a year for that...

If they'd produced a PC version of NBA Live 09 that was in any way like NBA Live 08 PC, waiting a year may be the lesser of two evils though.

I think they don't do it for pc!

How so? Peter Moore's latest comments seem to indicate they plan on returning to the PC platform. There certainly won't be an NBA Live 09 on PC though.

Does anyone have a photoshop cover made yet?

Mon Aug 04, 2008 6:27 pm

There is a cover thread in Live PC section but they are all NBA Live PC covers.

I don't understand EA. If they made 09 for PC, they would make twice as much profit as they would make this way, I think EA messed themselves.

Mon Aug 04, 2008 7:54 pm

Twice as much profit? Not even close. The PC version occupies a small corner of the market and with the dissatisfaction the past couple of years, there seem to be more and more people pirating the game as evident by the increased number of posts over the past 12 months from people asking for cracks, CD keys or help with pirated copies.

The decision to skip the PC this year as explained as being a chance to re-evaluate the platform, work out some online issues (presumably relating to things like NBA Live 365) and basically do a "reboot" on the platform which hopefully doesn't mean any more PS2 ports.

Well I didn't ment if they make a $1,000,000 without PC that they will make $2,000,000. But surely it would make more profit.
You also mentioned pirating. I am 100% sure that a year from now Blue Ray disks will be used largely instead of DVD. And from what I've heard. It won't be easy break Blue Ray's like DVD's.

I don't know about Blu Ray being standard that quickly though I suppose it's certainly possible. Anyway, I outlined EA's stance as they've explained it to us to date. I'd say they feel they'll make a bigger profit if they take the time to improve the PC version rather than ship another disappointing PS2 port.
