Thankfully I've got Austar, so I actually get to watch it. I don't get to go to any matches living in Tasmania.

Anyway, Sydney are doing very well. They defeated Wollongong today to take over the top ladder position, from Wollongong. And what's even better than the fact that Sydney is doing well is that Melbourne are doing well. Well, up until Friday anyway.

And don't forget about http://phpbbhost.org/sixersbasketball/index.php and http://www.geocities.com/insidenbl/

I should probably celebrate the return of NBL action to the Hunter by watching Pirate TV...on seconds thoughts, perhaps not.

Hopefully I won't have to go another season without NBA and NBL coverage...I'll just need to find a way to raise funds for Foxtel.

Yes, it is a must. I haven't been able to watch the NBA since Fox Sports stopped showing it, but I've finally got ESPN so I'll be able to watch it over the summer. Thankfully though, I've been able to watch the NBL on Fox Sports over the last few years. You will definitely have to try to raise the funds for Foxtel Andrew.

Well i went to the NBL last friday and watched Melbourne get arse raped by Wollongong. :x Damn tigers played like poop.
But it was a great experience because i hadn't gone for 4 years and i still had a great time. :)

I haven't been to a game of NBL since the Hobart Devils were a team. So I'm looking forward to late November when I can finally get to a game.

Anyway, Dave Thomas was brilliant last year, so if he can play anything like that for the Tigers, he will be a very big asset. Last year he played 12 games for the Canberra Cannons (before they were placed in voluntary administration) and averaged 18.2 ppg and 12.3 rpg (incl. 4.7 off. rpg).

I think i miiiight have seen you there. probably wasn't you though. were you wearing a red melbourne jersey with a black blazer over it? sitting next to old folks? If that was you, then DAMN i'm good. :D

About Saturday's game. I'd love to go, but, not enough money, or time to organise for somebody to take me there. :(

Dude..it's funny cause for the last few years...Brissy has been sh*thouse! but my friend went to see them and he said they're awesome this season!

He said Freeman is gonna be MVP..but ccn anyone tell me if Dereck Rucker is any good? (I heard that the Pistons had offered him a spot on their team..a long time a go but he quit..)...

I haven't seen a Brisbane game yet...maybe in December I will....oh well...why can't we have NBA/NBL on FTA t.v....that sux! FTA=Free to air... the ABC was still airing NBL in 2001...wat happened there? And has NBA ever been on t.v. before? (Other than pay tv?)

Yes it has been, back in the day on channel 10, but they cut it off. Its a joke.. soccer fans were bitching like nothing else during the world cup becuase channel 9(who had the rights) said they would only show a third of the games. And they were complaining about that! lol.. we dont even get to see our own league on normal television, or the nba. Luckily I have foxtel.. but man, i feel sorry for you guys.

I've got a little question. What happened to the NBL imports such as Willie Farley, Kavossy Franklin, Dave Hinton and Chris Williams. They all disappeared of my two favourite teams and I never found out where they went. Do they just go play overseas in other leagues?

I've got a little question too, if someone could please help me. It's about buying tickets for the 4 matches in Melbourne in rounds 8-10, incl. the Melbourne v Victoria game. How much ahead of the game should I buy the tickets for these matches in order to get a fairly decent position? Also, how much are the tickets (for an adult)?

Yeah, thanks Tubarney, I bought the tickets to this weekends games and got very good seats. 2nd and 5th row for the two games. I can't wait.

Speaking of the Kings-Hawks game, the Hawks ended the Kings 13 match winning streak. :o

Don't know where Chris Williams went. Last season he was MVP, now he's no where to be found. Willie Farley, come back to the 36ers.

Guys, don't forget to check out www.geocities.com/insidenbl ok.

My feelings can be summed up pretty much the same. I played juniors the Spectres and was a staunch Spectres/Magic fan until the tosser who bought the team killed all the links with my half of the Titans. I do watch a bit of NBL on fox but couldn't give 2 shits about the league now without a team to support and never will. A couple of people have said to me why don't you go for the Tigers or Giants, but would you expect a Carlton fan to support Collingwood if they went down? No.

The league thought the success of the early 90's would last forever but its thier own fault it is in a shambles now, they simply weren't smart enough (NSL style).

As I said in the "Ways to Improve the NBL" thread, I can't stand this new marketing gimmick ("A great night of family fun with a game of basketball thrown in"). Surely the basketball is the most important aspect of a professional basketball league.

It's about time the Kings started to do something. I remember driving through Sydney years ago and seeing billboards of the team when they signed Acie Earl and Ben Melmeth. Heh, Acie Earl. What a champ
