Shane Heal...

will get a chance to replay in the NBA! I saw on the news last night that he'll be playing with the Spurs!

I guess it was all propaganda cause they were talkin' as if he already made the team, but i think the fact that he's only tring out was said when they went," his contract can be trerminated at any time."

Shane I recall, said,"The Spurs need a shooting guard/shooting star so I'm positive I'll make it..." He quit Basketball but only wants to play again if he can make the NBA.

Btw, Shane is 33 and I hope that he'll make it and actually do something for the Spurs...

I'd say he's a longshot to make the team and even if he does, he won't get much PT. If he wants to continue playing professionally, he should have remained with the Kings (Sydney Kings, that is ).

To all those Heal fans (I'm not one...not sure if there are many...)- Shane played in the Spurs' loss to Dallas today!

He played 13 minutes and scored 1 point, 1 board and had 2 fouls. He shot 0-5 FG and 0-4 3pt attempts

I hope they give him another shot in the next game. I doubt they would bring him out to play just one game. Disappointing that he couldn't hit a shot from downtown.

Shane Heal played great! He scored 16 points...4-7 3 pointers! and had 3 assists in 17 minutes in a Spurs win!

Alex Garcia, who I imagine is fighting for a roster spot too...scored 9 points, 2 boards and an assist (I think) in 13 minutes before leaving the game, injured.

I'm not sure when the Spurs will cut players...but i hope Shane makes the Final Cut! He topscored the whole game, after all!

But... like his first game(which was terrible), its just one game. The spurs might be looking for consistancy. Who knows what will happen?

I saw some of the highlights earlier this evening as well as his statline, he played well. He needs to have a few more good performances though; I think he'll really need to blow them away to make the final cut.

16 points man, WHEW!

when i loaded up nba.com the other day and saw "Leading Scorer: Shane Heal" I just went WOAH!!! 16 points, 3 assists in 17 minutes is great.

He has 1 more game to impress with. If he flops, he cuts.

LOL :D

I think the Hammer has sealed the envelope with that performance.

What did I say to you yesterday in MSN Barnsey? I said he would probably come out and shoot 3 of 17 in the next game :D Well I wasn't far off, he shot 1 of 11!! LOL... maybe I jinxed him?

I think Heal should reconsider his retirement from the NBL...

Those guys won't be injured forever. Heal left the Timberwolves because he wasn't going to get much playing time in the 1997/1998 season...I can't see him being happy with the PT he'll get in San Antonio. Mind you, it's probably his last chance at playing in the NBA, so (hopefully) he'll accept whatever role the Spurs will give him.

I thought there was disatisfaction/a dispute over his playing time too, though I could be mistaken.

Shane Heal will make the team. And if he gets any minutes anything could happen. When Heal is on fire he can do anything. I woudn't be suprised if he shoots 30 at some stage.

He did shoot a franchise record 5 three-pointers in a quarter for Minnesota Twolves. I hope he beats Kobe's record for treys in a game.

He only beat it (Kobe's three record)...IF HE GET'S PT...and it looks very limited at this stage...I hope he becomes more respected on the Spurs and gets PT!

yeah a good game, he certainly needs a few more like that - just enough to be effective! Good stuff, though I'm not a Heal fan really, he's the only aussie in the NBA so you gotta sort of cheer for him.
