Tallest player unable to dunk?

I've never seen Muggsy Bogues dunk, or Earl Boykins. Spud Webb was tiny as well and he had an transcendent performance in the dunk contest.

I don't ever recall seeing Alvin Williams (listed at 6'5) dunking. There was also a pic I remember seeing a few times where someone on the Raptors roster (think it was Vince Carter) who was lifting Alvin during practise. In the pic, it seemed like Williams was trying to dunk while Carter was helping him by lifting him up .

^Well, back then it was because it Williams was known to not have great hops (him playing with a wrecked knee which ultimately ended his career doesn't exactly help) while he was never seen dunking during his tenure in Toronto. It was just that it seemed like it was some parent holding his kid up to the rim and helping himd dunk for the first time and achieving something they always wanted to do. You don't have to find it funny if you don't think it is.

I think it would be really pathetic for somebody higher than 6 feet who plays for an NBA team and can't dunk, even just in practice. I think if a player can't leap high enough to get a layup that close to the rim, that he'd get blocked all day long. His jump shot won't have as much spring in it and he'd get blocked for those too. With dunking not being recorded as a stat, we can't be certain too for NBA games. The WNBA on the other hand, we know for certain that only Lisa Leslie has dunked in an actual WNBA game.

How about the shortest player that can dunk?

Nate is 5'7'', can Boykins (5'5'') or Muggsy Bogues (5'3'') dunk?

Nate is 5'9 I think, not 5'7. Shortest player able to dunk is/was definitely Spud Webb, he is 5'6 as I remember.

Allen Iverson (6'0) is also one of the shortest players who can dunk. Now he isn't dunking really much, but at the beginning of his career he was dunking pretty nice for his size.

I'm between 6-2 and 6-3 and can't dunk. Only with a gumball. LOL It's simply a matter of training. I am a normal guy, I do not play in a team, I do not attend training sessions, I do not train my muscles.

With an extensive workout you can get quite good results. Otherwise Nate Robinson etc. could not dunk. If they just went for a walk like me sometimes and played computer games...and worked in an office they wouldn't be able to dunk either.

I didn't asked for proof, I asked what made you draw that assumption. Unfortunately I can't find a video of Nash dunking, nut I'll tell you what make me assume he can.

First of all, he is quite athletic. People who has an explosive first step are normally good leapers as well. Second, he's 6"3 - And even in the lousy league I play in in Denmark, most players that height can dunk, so it would really surprise me if a MVP candidate in the NBA couldn't.

That is why I think Steve Nash CAN dunk. Now it's your turn - what makes you think he can't?

Okay, maybe he can dunk in the practice but in the actual game? thats a different story. Like i have seen he just doesn`t have that leap ability, when he goes to the lay-up then you can see that he doesn`t have it in him. Didn`t he had some problems with he`s knees also?
And don`t get me wrong, he can play the game but i think he just doesn`t have the ability to jump that well.. in NBA Live 08 he is a dunkmachine

I'm a 6'2" white boy with average athletic ability and I can dunk quite easily. I refuse to believe anyone my height or taller who is in the NBA is unable to dunk.
