Three-Team trade.

Cavs get Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak.
Bulls get Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown.
Sonics get Chris Duhon, Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall.

/edit

Just reported, that Duhon will stay in Chicago, instead goes Adrian Griffin to Seattle

Holy mother fucker. Cleveland Brons get a lot of help.

Fri Feb 22, 2008 6:58 am

I'm surprise. Who's gonna be the starting c in chicago? Gray, maybe?
Is wallace going to play pf in cleveland?, because ilgauskas is playing c
Finally chicago has some presence at the paint.
Im not sure about hughes in chicago, they already have gordon, deng, nocioni and thefolosha

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:15 am

Holy shit, the Sonics get fucked again...What a crazy ass blockbuster trade, can't believe Ben is already outta Chicago. Wonder what Andrew will think of that, Wallace wasn't playing his best but he's still pretty damn important for a defense, and Joe Smith was playing amazingly well lately...

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:15 am

holy S#^@ omg what a surpise, will wallace play as a backup center or as a PF?

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:16 am

DAMN!

I like this trade really well for Cleveland, even though they lost some cap flexibility.

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:18 am

probably gonna play PF, he said he liked being a PF, cuz he don´t get a lot attention in the offense then and can be more effective when big center right by him, that´s why he wanted he could play with Gray by his side.

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:25 am

seattle get rapped up the asshole! but hell cleveland arent looking too bad

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:45 am

Its about time if you ask me it took Cleveland long enough to wise up and realize that supporting cast wasn't ever going to be much help to Lebron

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:51 am

The cavs are obviously the winners here, but am i the only one who thought they gave up a little much? Adding Shannon Brown as well :?

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:54 am

as el badman said: sonics get fucked again
i believe seattle has 16 players, but im not sure
can anybody please check this out ?

Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:54 am

Alright, I'm ready for the Sonics to GTFO now.

I really like this trade for the Cavs. The Bulls get out alright, dumping Big Ben, but they got Larry Hughes in return... Gooden, Brown and Simmons make up somewhat for losing Smith and Wallace up front.

The Cavs win this trade though. They can actually use Big Ben, and they get some solid backcourt guys. (and with Wally, they will still get cap relief in the 2009 offseason)

I don't get this trade for the Sonics. I have liked all of Presti's moves so far before this.

Yeah, that seems pretty obscure...Except if they have some inside info about how Adrian Griffin will become their franchise player...

Bill Simmons in his column yesterday:
TRADE 4A: Seattle trades Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West and Mickael Gelabale to Cleveland for Damon Jones, Donyell Marshall, my illegitimate brother Cedric Simmons and a 2008 No. 2 pick.

TRADE 3A: Cleveland trades Drew Gooden, Shannon Brown and Ira Newble
TRADE 3B: Chicago trades Ben Wallace, Luol Deng, Chris Duhon and Adrian Griffin

Ira Newble's contract expires this year. Donyell next year. Duhon this year (though they might want to keep him).

That's 11 million in cap space. Though it doesn't make a lot of sense because Wally's contract expires next year for 11 mil....

I guess I am just as confused as everyone else.

Cleveland gets Lebron some help, but the Cavs still aren't anything to write home about.

If I were the Trailblazers I'd have him killed before anything else happens.

Thank you so much danny ferry you're great you did a great job! Two inside stoppers, a 3 point shooter and a young gaurd for the future in delonte west. Thank you so very much!!! Give the nba championship to g town right now.

Fri Feb 22, 2008 8:50 am

Welp, back to the finals we go. Hopefully bron can make it a real series this time.

Fri Feb 22, 2008 9:06 am

Chemistry-wise, this is a fantastic deal for the Cavs. They have all the pieces to make it back to the Finals, imo.

Fri Feb 22, 2008 9:41 am

who will take hughes' spot starting? would it be wally?

Fri Feb 22, 2008 9:42 am

The deal was totally worth it for the Bulls as far as I'm concerned. Whatever question marks Hughes and Gooden have, Wallace was a monumental disappointment and needed to go. It's a shame to see Smith go but as I said in the Bulls thread, with the season all but over it's a worthwhile risk.

Not a bad deal for Cleveland as it potentially gives them more depth, particularly if Ben Wallace actually gets motivated. Of course, that would still make him a monumental tool.

Pure cap relief from Seattle's perspective to the tune of around $7 million, with Marshall's contract coming off the books after next season.

Fri Feb 22, 2008 10:23 am

 The Bulls traded for Larry Hughes? What idiots.
