That's ownage right there. Ofcourse, don't expect "joejam999" to respond...people don't like admitting when their wrong.

That video is 7 years old. I wouldn't say I got owned that bad. If you can post a more recent video of him doing those dunks I will admit I was wrong.

you mean, a video of him as an adult, and not as an 18 year old kid as in the video? I'm sure he would suck now when he's grown into his body.

I think David Lee won that only because he was able to pull those moves off as a white guy.
Being white in a dunk contest is like being 5'7".

We need a white guy in the dunk contest though. How about an all white dunk contest this year. That might bring some excitement back into it.

I agree - no mater how many dunks he misses, James White should win ANY dunk contest he participates in - that guy is sick.

I still think David Lee had some nice dunks though.

I appreciate the showmanship of it but I'd agree that it's in danger of becoming stale. We've seen it used the last three years running so it doesn't quite have the same impact as when Josh Smith first did it.

I know James White isnt in the nba, but can he still be invited?

wasn't one of the bulls allowed to defend his 3 point crown, even though he wasnt with the bulls anymore?

I think his name was Julius Hodges

I think with Green defending the title he shoulder face these three....

1. Gerald Wallace
2. Jason Richardson
3. Doesn't matter the above two would dominate.

8-)

They've had a couple of participants in the three point contest who weren't on an NBA roster at the time (as you noted, Hodges was one of them) but they've never done it in the dunk contest. There's probably no official rule against it and even if there is the NBA could choose to waive or change it, but I think if you're going to let James White or anyone else not currently in the NBA into the contest the field needs to be increased to 6-8 participants rather than just four.

Is the rim height in HS the same in the NBA?

That white kid in 2001 is David Lee? :o
I recall seeing that contest in ESPN and thought that white kid is a cocky bastard.
HE'S USING HYPNOSIS!

I would assume so, I've never heard of them being in any different...not in courts that are used for competitive play, anyway.

I think it is the same, in my high school here in Canada is the same with the one in Air Canada Centre.

If I remember correctly from last year's competition, each dunker was allowed to try as many times as they wanted until the dunk was completed. I really hope they go back to the "one replacement dunk" rule or whatever, because seeing Nate Robinson miss forty times over and over again isn't too exciting.

Also, is it just me, or has Vince lost like 8-10 inches on his vert? Not to mention a lot of quickness.

No, it's only eight feet. That's why Kwame Brown had such a difficult time adjusting to the NBA.

adv1s5, last year it was they had 3:00 minutes or something, and then 10 replacement dunks after that. The year before last it was wait till they get one in.
Opinions are my own.
