"The King Of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters" sits on top of Rotten Tomatoes for 2007, and rightfully so. Awesome movie. Only "Hot Fuzz" can come close, and while a perfect film, it does not have an epic villian like Billy Mitchell. (Drama-mentary about the epic battle for the high score in Donkey Kong.)

Seriously. "The King of Kong" is the movie of the year. It's what "Wordplay" was before things like "Thank You for Smoking", "The Last King of Scotland", "The Queen" and "The Proposition" came out last year. Only, it hasn't been dethroned by fiction.

And "Waitress" is the "Volver" of 2007.

Also, since it has been showing on and off on Spike TV. "Kung Fu Hustle" is truly epic, and has the greatest fight scene of the modern era, and one of the greatest of all time.

Watched Bourne Identity on TNT yesterday afternoon, and got the urge to finish the trilogy, so watched the Bourne Supremacy and the Bourne Ultimatium. Superb movies, especially the last one.

For me when Kung Fu Hustle first came out I thought it was too ridiclious. In the promotions they showed the part where the two landlords were fighting the skeletons, and it turned me off for some reason. I am glad I eventually got to watching it, and of course loving it.

I wonder what mind-blowing project Stephen Chow is working on next.

yeah man the first time I saw it, I didn't really "get it". but after a couple times, i love the movie. the best part is when Chow's friend throws the knives.

Watched Beerfest. (Y)

Other than the obvious nudity, sex jokes, and some decent jokes in the movie, what really got me into the movie is its theme of beer drinking. Brings back memories that anyone who's familiar with such antics can relate to it, which brings out the beauty of the movie. :chug:

The group also made a 'horror' movie:
Club Dread

Maybe I'll watch it if I can find it.

I was away for a couple days visiting my sister in Valparaiso, so I watched lots of movies. Jarhead, Hitman, Spiderman 3, Fearless, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Saving Private Ryan, The Notebook, Rob Zombie's Halloween, and I think that's it. I enjoyed most of them, except Spiderman. It was kinda...weird. Like, Spiderman the Musical.

Is that the movie where this old woman keeps a notebook with all her memories and one day her great grand daughter discovers it and relives the memories in her own life?

Anyways the Daredevil and Elektra movies that I have watched the past days blow out almost every action flick in my opinion.

@Pera: Seriously? I've been reading the Daredevil comic books since I was six and I was seriously disappointed by the movie. Haven't watched Elektra but it doesn't seem any better.

Anyway, I think they're real far away from being the best action movies ever; IMO the best action flick ever is and always will be Apocalypse Now, followed closely by the first Die Hard and Raiders of the Lost Ark.

yeah i gotta disagree with ya there pera (unless i missed some sarcasm), imo those 2 have to be among the 3 worst comic book movies ever(original punisher being in there too). for joe, if you didnt like daredevil dont waste your time on elektra, imo it was even worse. the only good thing about elektra was terrance stamp and thats probably cause i am such a fan of his.

gotta agree with joe, Apocalypse Now is a must own for anyone

As far as the comics go .. well I've never touched them. And yeah I know people have negative opinions about the two, but I simply liked them. If you look at it from a neutral point, you could see that the movie could turn out good or bad. Depending on your personal preference and your taste. The movie doesn't have to be really great to be great or awesome to me. It just needs to entertain me and if it does its a great or in Daredevil's case a really great movie for me.

Two of the worst movies of our time as far as I'm concerned.
