I nominate that for most predictable prediction ever, since...it already happened!

I predict Dwyane will make a stupid post. Oh, wait...

Coach: Doc Rivers

Some Facts:

- Kevin Martin will be a top 10 scorer at least (25 ppg)
- Luol Deng, Eddy Curry will turn into All Stars.
- Yi Jianlian will have a bigger impact Yao had when he entered the league.
- The Knicks will make the Playoffs.
- LeBron will be the MVP without any doubt (Cavs at one in the East, James with awesome stats)
- Kevin Durant will struggle due his lack of mass and strenght.

There is something wrong with that prediction. Mavs being champs while phoenix western champs, I don't get it at all.

Oh I thought it was about Regular Season .. so I thought that the Suns will play the best regular season of the league but will again be kicked out in the playoffs.

We're now close to 20 games into the season, and I think it's time to bump this thread and see how some of us are doing on these predictions.

Just for fun, I chucked in the predicitions I made here on RealGM. If you're wondering why LaMarcus Aldridge isn't mentioned in those predictions, it's because that post was made 3 days before anyone knew Oden was going to have microfracture surgery.

On RealGM, I wrote:NBA Champion: Phoenix Suns

West Champion: Phoenix Suns

East Champion: Detroit Pistons

Best Record West: Dallas Mavericks

Best Record East: Detroit Pistons

MVP: Kevin Garnett

DPOY: Gerald Wallace

Coach of the Year: Doc Rivers

GM of the Year: Danny Ainge

MIP: Randy Foye (Marvin Williams is right there too)

ROY: Kevin Durant

Random Predictions:

(1) The Memphis Grizzlies will make the playoffs and win around 45 games.

(2) The Pistons will look as strong as ever, proving last year was a one-off down season.

(3) Darko continues to disappoint.

(4) Tyrus posts numbers around 12/8 and 2 blocks.

(5) Raymond Felton breaks out.

(6) Chris Paul reminds everyone that he is still better than Deron Williams with a huge season, postin close to 20/5/10.

(7) Andrew Bynum does nothing. At least nothing that warrants cancelling a trade for arguably the best point gaurd in the league.

Here I had the Suns and Pistons in the finals. I've chosen that 3 years in a row now. Maybe it'll happen this year.

Both the Mavs and Pistons are disappointing a bit. This prediction isn't looking great right now.

MVP I'm sticking with, though LeBron is giving Garnett a run for his money. In the end though, the hype surrounding the big trades and the fact that Garnett has been a major cog in turning the Celtics from a bottom 3 team to a top 3 team should be enough to give him the hardware.

Here I had Gerald Wallace as the DPOY. I'm not sure what I was thinking, considering the hype surrounding KG and the fact that Wallace plays in Charlotte. He has some crazy defensive numbers, but so far this year he has disappointed.

COY and GM are pretty obvious, most people picked those two.

For MIP I had Randy Foye with Marvin Williams a close second. Foye is yet to play a game, but I still think he'll be a major competitor for this award come seasons end. Marvin has had a really nice year, averaging 15/6/2 on almost 50% shooting.

Durant was the obvious pick, and still is.

Now for the random predicitions:

1. Definately not looking great, the Grizz are sitting at 6-10 right now. I still think they will pick it up. Maybe not make the playoffs, but come close as I mentioned below. They are much improved already.

2. As mentioned before, the Pistons are struggling somewhat. I wouldn't be suprised to see them at the top of the standings in the East come playoff time though, but it will be pretty damn tough to do.

3. Darko is averaging 9/7 with 2 blocks. Some nice numbers - for a minor role player. He's still a bust.

4. Tyrus is averaging 7/5 and 1 block, so this prediction is pretty off so far. I'm sticking by it though. If it wasn't for Skiles benching him for no... nah, I won't go there.

5. I think it's fair to say that Raymond has broken out. He just has to keep his play at a high level, but consistency has been a problem of his in the past.

6. I love this prediction because I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who went from "Utah made a huge mistake" in 2006 to "Deron Williams is a top 3 point guard in the league" in 2007. Make no mistake, Deron is one hell of a player, but don't forget about CP3 so quickly. So far:

Paul: 20 pts, 4 rbs, 10 ast, 3 stls, 3 to (48% FG, 39% 3PT, 92% FT) 37 mins

Williams: 19 pts, 3 rbs, 9 ast, 1 stl, 4 to (52% FG, 44% 3PT, 80% FT) 37 mins

7. Bynum has really impressed me so far. I missed this one by a mile, but he's still not good enough to warrant not trading Jason Kidd for him (and Odom), and I'm not sure he'll ever be.

Here, I wrote:Champions: Phoenix Suns (MVP: Steve Nash)
East: Chicago Bulls
West: Phoenix Suns
MVP: Kevin Garnett
ROY: Kevin Durant
6th Man: Andres Nocioni
MIP: LaMarcus Aldridge/Randy Foye
DPOY: Kevin Garnett
COY: Doc Rivers (ouch)
GM: Danny Ainge (double ouch)

Random Predictions:

- Memphis Grizzlies will make or come very close to the playoffs
- Ronnie Brewer will show why he was a lottery pick in '06
- Kevin Durant will average 20+ PPG
- Raymond Felton will establish himself as one of the leagues top young point gaurds
- LaMarcus Aldridge will average close to 20/10
- Yao Ming will average around 28/10
- Darko Milicic will continue to disappoint

Pretty much everything is the same here, but I had the Bulls going to the finals. This isn't looking great right now, but this team will be a top seed come playoff time and will give the Eastern elite a run for it's money.

For 6th man I had Nocioni and currently he's averaging 14/6 and was named the Bulls player of the month. I think it's a good call, but I believe there are a bunch of other guys out there - namely Jason Terry. We'll see what happens.

For MIP I had Aldridge, since this was posted after we all found out about Oden. This one is going well.

DPOY I had Garnett and as I mentioned earlier he will probably get it because of the big Boston turnaround and the fact the NBA loves hype.

For my random predicitions:

1. Already discussed above

2. Brewer has been great thus far, posting 14/3/3 and almost 3 steals a game after his hot start. The fact that the Bulls didn't draft him is beginning to hurt even moreso with Thabo playing like shit thus far.

3. He's putting up 20.4 PPG thus far, and I expect him to keep it up and only get better as the season progresses. I'm thinking around 22 PPG.

4. Already discussed

5. LaMarcus is doing just that - averaging close to 20/10 with his 19/8 average thus far. I fully expect him to carry on like this.

6. I really thought Adelmans system meant Yao scoring more, but that hasn't happened thus far. T-Mac has been let loose on the perimeter - which is good for a Tracy fan like me - but not so great for this prediction.

7. Already discussed "Le Bust"

I think I did alright. Not great, but pretty good. It'll be fun looking back on this come the end of the season though.

I think they break through this year.

Not looking bad, I'm sticking with it.
Indy wrote:East: Boston Celtics
This is going to work. The Celtics and Bulls are the 2 best teams in the East, but the Celtics have enough firepower to score on the Bulls defense.

I'm sticking to it.
West: Phoenix Suns
Indy wrote:MVP: LeBron James
His supporting cast will be significantly worse if they fail to re-sign Varejao and Pavlovic, but they will have similar success. This is the first of many.

I'm certainly sticking with this.
ROY: Kevin Durant
Only competition is Al Horford, but Kevin is going to be Seattle's number 1 scorer from day one.
Indy wrote:Most Improved: Rashad McCants
Especially if the Wolves trade Ricky Davis at some point.

As I expected they did trade Ricky Davis, and McCants is playing well. He is still a contender, but my choice right now is Chris Kaman.

Indy wrote:DPOY: Jermaine O'Neal
Hopefully he finally gets his due. We'll be a far better defensive team with Dick Harter and JO will finally get recognized.

He's been solid defensively, but he's also been hurt. He certainly doesn't deserve it at this point, but we'll see where it is at the end of the year.
Indy wrote:Sixth Man: David Lee
As long as he isn't going to start for Eddy Curry.

This was a dumb pick. This is obviously between Jason Terry and Manu Ginobilii.
Indy wrote:COY: Jim O'Brien
This one I'm almost certain of. It is amazing that the perception of the Pacers right now is so terrible. The stage is set for Jim O'Brien to lead this team to a 4 or 5 spot in the playoffs and it to seem like a huge surprise. That's the type of team that's coach wins COTY. Not teams that were expected to be good and are.

Stan Van Gundy is my choice at this point of the season, but Jim has lived up to what I thought he would do at this point. We haven't begun to play as well as we will yet we are tied for second in the division.
